এছাড়া ভারতের অফিসিয়াল সূত্রের খবর “চিকিৎসাসেবা” নিতে ১ বছরে বাংলাদেশ থেকে ভারতে গেছে ৩৪ কোটি ৩৫ লাখ ডলার। ২০১৫-১৬ অর্থবছরে ভারতে চিকিৎসাসেবা গ্রহণকারী বিদেশী নাগরিকদের মধ্যে সংখ্যায় সবচেয়ে বেশি ছিল বাংলাদেশী। অর্থবছরটিতে ভারতে চিকিৎসাসেবা নিয়েছে মোট ৪ লাখ ৬০ হাজার জন বিদেশী। এর মধ্যে বাংলাদেশ থেকেই গেছে ১ লাখ ৬৫ হাজার জন। তথ্যমতে, ২০১৫-১৬ অর্থবছরে প্রায় ৫৮ হাজার বাংলাদেশী নাগরিককে মেডিকেল ভিসা দিয়েছে ভারত। তবে পর্যটন ভিসায় ভারতে যাওয়া বাংলাদেশীদের অধিকাংশেরই লক্ষ্য থাকে চিকিৎসা নেয়া। ভারতে রোগীপ্রতি ব্যয়েও ওপরের দিকে রয়েছে বাংলাদেশ। এক্ষেত্রে পাকিস্তানের পরই বাংলাদেশের অবস্থান। ভারতে চিকিৎসা গ্রহণে বাংলাদেশী রোগীদের ক্ষেত্রে জনপ্রতি ব্যয় হয়েছে গড়ে ২ হাজার ৮৪ ডলার।

ভারতে বিদেশী পর্যটকের উৎস দেশ হিসেবেও বাংলাদেশ এখন শীর্ষে। ২০১৬ সালে যুক্তরাষ্ট্রকে টপকে শীর্ষস্থানে উঠে এসেছে বাংলাদেশ। ২০১৬ সালে বাংলাদেশ থেকে ভারতে গেছে ১৩ লাখ ৭০ হাজার পর্যটক, ২০১৫ সালের চেয়ে যা ২১ শতাংশ বেশি।

রানা প্লাজা দুর্ঘটনার পর গত ৪ বছরে দেশের ছোট-মাঝারি প্রায় দেড় হাজার গার্মেন্ট কারখানা বন্ধ হয়েছে। বন্ধ হওয়া জনিত এসব পোষাকের বেশীর ভাগ অর্ডার চলে গেছে ভারতে। কেবল বন্ধ হওয়া নয়, বাংলাদেশের বহু চালু কারখানার মালিকানাও কিনে নিয়েছে ভারতীয়রা। অনেক বড় বড় ব্রান্ডের অর্ডার নেমে এসেছে এক চতুর্থাংশে, চলে গেছে ভারতে।
প্রতিবছর ভারত থেকে শত শত শিল্পী ও পারফরমাররা এসে ঢাকা শহর মাতিয়ে যায়, হাজার হাজার কোটি টাকা নিয়ে যায় বিনা হিসাব ও ট্যাক্সে। পৃথিবীর কোথাও বোধ এমন দেউলিয়া জাতি আর দ্বিতীয়টি নাই।

Why would it go unnoticed? That's just against the whole idea.

The message is, as long as India behaves, we will reciprocate. Otherwise, we can also have different plans.

Explain how India is misbehaving with respect to BD. You are a sovereign country with your own institutions but weak in leadership and governance. What you need is a strong leader and good governance. We can only work with leaders who you elect.

Other than water issue I don't see anything major that is the cause of this anxiety.

You are free to go to China as a remedial measure to show your displeasure but it will be at a cost to our cooperation.

I see a lot of positives that have taken place between our countries. Like the exchange of enclaves and resolving the border issues. Fright transit through your country to our far east. Sharing of our excess electricity of 600MW. Building of power stations to augment your power shortages. Another 5 billion dollar credit line was announced recently including $500 million for arms purchases from India. Our bilateral trade increased by 17% from previous year.

There are no tariffs that are specific to Bangladesh. These barriers or tariffs apply to all countries that trade with India. It is not BD specific. The trade is skewed in India favor is because you import more from India than you export. Border killings have come down drastically after the issue came to light by Human rights organizations. There is a lot that can be done to bring these killings to zero. There is no need to kill people if they are just crossing the border to eke out a living.

BD should do more to contain the illegal border crossing and smugglers of cattle. We have fenced up in most areas along the border to contain illegal aliens. BD has to do her part to fence other areas and cooperate with India. It should educate its citizens not cross illegally and face the ire and wrath of BSF.

When asked how about loans india provided to Bangladesh. Editor explained indian loans is just another way india trying to increase sale of indian goods and services and create a captive market. Because condition for indian loan is buying Indian good and services with the money. কেননা তিস্তা নদীসহ ৫৪টি অভিন্ন নদীর পানি ন্যায্য হিসা আন্তর্জাতিক আইন অনুযায়ী বাংলাদেশের পাওয়ার কথা তার কোনোটিই হয়নি। তিস্তা চুক্তি হয় হয় করেও শেষ পর্যন্ত হয়নি। ভারতের কিছু কিছু মিডিয়া যারা বাংলাদেশের স্বার্থবিরোধী তারা এবং এখানেও (বাংলাদেশে) কেউ কেউ মিনমিনিয়ে বলার চেষ্টা করেছে, যে মমতা ব্যানার্জি নাকি এটা করতে দিচ্ছে না। আমরা সবাই জানি, ভারতের সংবিধান অনুযায়ী বিদেশের সঙ্গে সম্পর্ক তৈরি করার ক্ষেত্রে অথবা সম্পর্ক নষ্ট করার ক্ষেত্রে অর্থাৎ তার পররাষ্ট্রবিষয়ক ব্যাপার কেন্দ্রীয় সরকারের জুরিসডিকশনই একমাত্র জুরিসডিকশন। সেখানে রাজ্যগুলোর কিছুই করার থাকে না। এখানে খুব স্পষ্ট করে বোঝা যায়, পশ্চিমবঙ্গকে আসলে কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার বা রাজনৈতিক ও কূটনৈকিতকরা একটা উপলক্ষ হিসেবে ধরে নিয়ে বাংলাদেশকে পানি থেকে বঞ্চিত করতে চায়। বছরের পর বছর যে রাষ্ট্র তার নিকটতম প্রতিবেশীকে আন্তর্জাতিক আইন অনুযায়ী ন্যায্য পাওনা দেয় না। তাকে বন্ধু মনে করার যুক্তিসঙ্গত কারণ বাংলাদেশের মানুষ দেখে বলে আমার মনে হয় না।

You need not only very strong Army and Navy but a seriously massive Air Force also and from that I mean at least 250 4.5++ Fighter Jets as part of your Air Force. Yet our bilateral trade has increased by 17% last year. There is no point in shipping products that we compete domestically to export and consume. If you think India is unfair to BD then you can go complain to WTO.
Regarding border killings I am with you that it is avoidable and a mechanism has to be set up to stop these border shoot outs. To give you the scale of smuggling that takes place at the border is mind boggling. It is in billions of dollars and one estimate is that it is bigger than the official bilateral trade i.e. about $6 billion presently. So, you can see how much of nefarious activities take place at the border. Manning the 2000 km border is a herculean task to say the least.
