That's obviously the major concern because the US finds the VCP too much cozy-ing with China. On the other, if a "democratic" government is brought into power through revolution (the gov't can be as democratic as the one settled in Raqqa, Syria or Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, no worries), the US can more easily pull the strings and achieve what it has failed some four decades back.

Anyway @Beast, I've told you many time that the VCP will not get close to the CCP. You're free to not believe it. But just don't later call VN a traitor or a snake when you finally see the reality that VCP will always be against CCP lol. So I'll tell you the reality now, VCP is anti-CCP.

You choose not to believe it but anyway, what can you expect VCP to do? Abandon trade with China and who is going to feed the expanding economy. And if vietnam is naive to believe US will really come to aid vietnam in case of war with China will end up like the Philippines. What has they gain so far from a strong hostile confrontation with China? Nothing. A sluggish economy and no territories gain back. Worst of all the extradition clause force upon philippines on US soldier right on philippine soil causes even more embarrassment when PHILIPPINE authority are helpless against US soldier when they commit crimes or rape their women.

You want that thing to happen on vietnam soil? There is no free lunch in this world. Inviting US help meaning string of rules that vietnam needs to obey like philippines suffer. VCP are aware of it and so far they have resist the idea of US setting up a base on vietnam soil.

China surely cannot give all its resource to VN, just for its unite. We have our own issues..

It's more many Chinese migrating to US to bring more wealth back to China. Look at most Chinese migrating to US. They hardly speak English or broken English. Their stay there is temporary. Mainly to leech on American economy
