Rafale Fighters India is Buying Can't Match Chinese Fighters: Russian Envoy

.
ahahahhahaha......now what will Indian members on here say about this? So far judging from their comments they are rather reserved in their response. Had it been a E.U/U.S official who made such comments then im sure Indians here will be screaming all over here screw the U.S or to hell with the E.U etc. But when it involves their patron Russia, they go silent or just make modest statements like Russia should offer better deals to India and whatever.lool. I understand though , they still have this soviet love for Russia.:cheesy: anyway i understand since they still rely on Russia for most of their defence needs. of course everybody knows rafale is superior to Sukhoi 27. Just Russian sour grapes.

Anyway, we all know Russia is sore about India getting closer and closer to the west/U.S, since they have been losing lots of contracts which used to by default go to them. So they are sad/angry India seems to be shifting quite slowly but surely out of their orbit. India should do what is in their best interests, and im sure moving closer to the U.S/E.U/west will serve India interests more than otherwise. So India should discard any Russian objections to this. Russia shouldnt blackmail India in anyway, since India owes nothing to Russia. There are no friends in politics, only interests. I said this before on here, India will find it more and more difficult not to take sides or know where it priorities lies, it will either have to be with us in the west/U.S or Russia/China in coming decades. They cant be in both at the same time, and they will come to terms with this in coming decade.

UNTIL then expect Russia to keep whinning about such deals as india getting closer to the U.S/west in future.:enjoy:
Poor Russia.:(

There is only one side India will ever take. That is India's side. India is too big and ambitious to be part of any exclusive club of nations. China is our neighbour, we cannot ignore this fact. We can not remain dependent on imports either, we must become self-reliant.

.
Actually its the other way around. MMRCA was held to move AWAY from Russia, considering the past experiences we had with them.
India wanted a western fighter to buy leverage at the same time. This is why in my view, Typhoon was the best bet since it would have gotten India the leverage with Germany, Spain, Britain and Italy in one go.

The Mig 35 was ousted PURELY on technological aspects.... just as the F 16 and F 18. Even representatives of the ousted companies accepted the results after they were briefed by the IAF!

.
He is right. We should buy Mig-35 instead.

I already paid the ambassador the ultimate insult in post #3.

Eh, what? The Rafale is superior to the SU-27 and India already operates the most advanced SU-30 i.e. the MKI.

The Russian dude is trolling, ban him please. :p:

I'm sure the ambassador had a terrible headache and hangover in the morning.

He had one too many vodka.

NEW DELHI: The French Rafale Fighter aircraft that India is planning to buy, in what is being billed as the largest defence purchase by the country - "will be swatted like mosquitos in an August night," says Russian Ambassador to India Alexander Kadakin.

Mr Kadadin also claimed that Sukhoi-27 - aircraft manufactured in Russia that are supplied to China's People's Liberation Army (Air Force )- are far more capable and advanced than the Rafale fighters.

Incidentally, Russian-made MiG- 35, as well as US-made F-16s & F- 18, Swedish-made SAAB Gripin and French-made Rafale were the key competitors for the defence contract. After a long and detailed evaluation, the IAF had selected the French-made Rafale Fighter jets to replace its ageing and depleting fleet. The deal is likely to cost India a whopping $23 billion.

Going on to question India's strategic forays with the Unites States and the erstwhile 'Western Bloc', the Russian Ambassador said the US has "transferred zero technology to India".

He cited the BrahMos Missile, a supersonic cruise missile jointly developed and produced by India and Russia, the Sukhoi-30MKi that is now being licensed and produced in India, and the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant as examples of critical technology transferred by Russia to India.

Russia, historically, has been a key strategic partner of India and the main supplier of weapon systems. But, in the last decade, India has increasingly looked towards Israel and US to meet its defence requirements. The shift, no doubt, has peeved Russia.

These issues are likely to dominate the summit-level talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. President Putin is scheduled to visit India on December 11.

Russia is expected to push India to source conventional submarines from them. Submarines are key to the strategy of "Sea Denial" - preventing warships of adversaries from accessing specific areas in the sea. India has only eight functional conventional submarines.

Pure jealously of losing to someone else and trying to show others as inferior, reality is different. Forget about capabilities what Russian aircraft lacks significantly is availability and maintainability in comparison to french/west and Rafale is no exception. US is also trying to tap into this market by making big concessions for India. Russia will further lose edge.

Marketing Skills gone wrong.

On topic : they better do something to make sure FGFA deal goes forward rather than resorting to silly comments

Russians should have mentioned our J-10
It is all another sales pitch again for the Russians to salvage the deal when negotiation of Rafale between the French and Indians drags on :cheesy:
