Well, if we believe Indians the the Bison is the answer against F15's. They could not stop shouting from the rooftops.

if true is simply a case of hard work....pak military know because of meagre defence $$ had to utilize hardware to maximum limits...

Hmm if the brits in the next few days dont come with a counter-claim then we can assume this to be true , but we should wait . atleast give them time to react. If they dont then congrats to pak airforce in advance.

Actually this interview has been on the net for more than 6 months now. Also, you can ask your Indian friends here, the PAF has never been acknowledged to overstate anything. They are always credited with understating or just plain old keeping quiet.

If that is true , its great then . congrats . India should go for the rafale ,

So in essence I guess RAF pilots should improve their training in WVR combat or is it being implied EF which IAF might get is a dud.

Or as an extension just because PAF pilots defeated RAF pilots in WVR combat exercise will also defeat IAF pilots in WVR. :disagree:

The PAF, checked out the EF as far back as 2005 and politely declined it and perused for the F-16s.
Wasn't a bad decision after all. :yahoo:

Did the EF came off a dud when PAF evaluated it or did is just not fit PAF future plans?

FFS go and read the interview.........:

Q: Any memorable experiences that you would like to share?

A: On one occasion – in one of the international Anatolian Eagles - PAF pilots were pitted against RAF Typhoons, a formidable aircraft. There were three set-ups and in all three, we shot down the Typhoons. The RAF pilots were shocked.

Then he goes onto to give you the reason why the RAF lost.

All said and done.. real world.. the EF would have engaged the viper from miles off using an AMRAAM.. and have had a greater chance of surviving the return shot.
the question remains. how accurate are those BVR missiles and how hard is it to dodge them?

Did not fit into future plans.. still very sanction prone.. without the friendly support from nations flying the type..
even today with the Saudi's flying it, it would not have mattered.. since the Beduin loves his money more than they love you.

If the Ef is equipped with the AMRAAM.. and the Viper is equipped with the same.. then it all come down to the electronic gizmo's.. The CAPTOR radar's performance is slightly better in BVR modes than the APG-68(assuming its an upgraded F-16AM.. the CAPTOR will outperform the APG-66 by a mile). But will that matter at the maximum range of an AMRAAM 28nm??
Since it is likely that both jets would have spotted each other and would in burners to provide maximum KE to the shot..
The EF's DASS would provide an upper hand to the EF pilot.. whilst the F-16AM pilot would have to rely on whatever meagre(comparatively) defensive aids he has.
The EF still has the upper hand.. replace the AMRAAM on the EF with a meteor.. the F-16 is not going home for certain.

Pakistani pilots flying modernised versions of the 1970s-vintage F-16 Falcon fighter have beaten the RAF's brand-new Eurofighter Typhoon superfighters during air combat exercises in Turkey, according to a Pakistani officer.

According to a Pakistani officer? Without corroboration from an authentic independent unbiased source, this is just a lot of hot air!!

Perhaps the account above is simply a lie, or anyway a bit of a fighter pilot tall story. But the pilot quoted will be easily identifiable inside his community if not to the outside world, and he could expect a lot of flak for telling a lie on such a matter in public.
