This is a nationwide disease that effects ALL levels of society; look at a certain members posts here for e.g. Whilst supposedly appreciating the death of a terrorist he seems to be almost apologetic about it, as if he really wished it did not happen and other extremists who would openly insult, hurt or kill anyone who does not agree with them are gods who should not be offended.. heroes to them.

You want to go into schools you will find the same and worse going on in backwards area. It is a social problem and not a problem only with Madressas. I do not know why you blame only them.... There are many madressas who provide cheap education and work as havens for the poorest which you fail to point out. Rather then one experience it is better to look at a broader picture.

Conduit/ lap dog.. that is the word you are looking for. It is these very Mullahs that demanded Shariah in the 50s and lynched a policeman who went to negotiate with them and threw his dead body out of the mosque.

There have been great scholars in Pakistan like Dr. Israr. Would you have him killed while he was alive and his family killed?

Dr. Israr (marhoom) was no Mullah, but a Medical Doctor who learnt Islam and devoted his life for it. In-fact Dr. Israr started his struggle against the same people (the Mullah, political mullah, kath Mullah etc) who @Oscar is referring too. His words may be too sharp and painful but there is no doubt about the truthfulness of those. I do not know how many Mullah you have met but those who I met, after seeing and listening to them, I am sorry, I decided that I'll keep myself to at-least 5 feet distance from anybody having a beard and talking about religion. I mean it was that bad. All Mullah deserve to be sent to hell, but not the religious scholars such as Dr. Israr Ahmed, Javeid Ghamidi, Justice Rafi Usmani, Taqi Usmani etc.

Do not blame those who try blame those who left these kids in this state. What help has the government given to rectify this problem. One one side is one extreme by these people and the other is those who blame all the wrongs of Pakistan on these madrassahs... How many madrassahs have caused the loadshedding and the rampant poverty and how many cause gas shortages and lack of jobs. Stop picking on a make shift solution and look at the real problem at hand... the government can not provide decent pays and this is what you will get,
and yes I have gone to many and seen children pass out to be decent people. you get what you put in, if you do not fund them and leave them to get the cheapest teachers available do not blame them they do something which the government has failed to, even if they do it very poorly. Compare the children to those of Thar and you will get the answer. I am sick of bashing without solutions from liberals, get other parties involved and provide solutions of live with what we have now...

If all Mullahs are bad than all secular who have a mentality of a slave need to be killed and Pakistan saved from their curse. If we don't need Mullahs than we don't these US and Western touts as well, why spare them? Labeling Mullahs across the board as corrupt and wrong and cursing them is no solution and chanting slogans to kill them all is no solution. The society has ceased to function, almost, though we still have few like Edhi, Amjad Saaqib etc. Look around you, we do not even pay zakat; zakat and ushr is instrumental in taking care of orphans and needy. He used to say (back in mid 90s when situation was better compared to today) that Pakistan needs to be flattened, and has to start over from scratch.

The reason is what I listed. Whining like babies without ever getting your own hands dirty. Oh it is the mullahs and the politicians but I might break a nail if i tried to help the people myself. Oh it is to hard to help people it is the job of the government.. We do not work nor do we let others work and if you do not like how the religious education is turning up do something about it. Get some people together and get a proper Imam and scholar to teach the kids, but no just take the kids out and think the problem is solved. You want to solve a problem make long term solutions, and face the problem head on. If there is one bad molvi there are hundreds of good ones but I guess they are ignored. You see so many decent people here who learnt from these very people but the few must define the many. @Oscar enough hate present solutions which are not extremist in nature. Visiting a few madrassahs in a backward area does not make you an expert

So what you are suggesting is that we should only blame the people who put the snakes and their nests into our society and not worry about snakes biting and killing us?
