What's new

Putin and Modi have agreed on licensed production of a Russian attack helicopter in India

Dude I have seen some of the most sensible discussion of topics in Pakistan's media. The panellist are quite educated about the topics at hand and carry out a discussion in a mannerly decorum. Our media debates is just filled with shouting matches and hurling snide remarks. Quite frankly speaking, we have one of the worst media whose only aim is sensationalising everything and anything.
I am not talking about panelists and talk shows I am talking about news hours and when they are reporting that Pakistan plans to induct this Tank or Fighter Jet or Ship they many times will report a oil tanker as War Ship and training Jet like K-8 as our main Fighter Jet and even JF-17 the most dangerous plane on face of the earth it is good plane but not most dangerous

Be my guest with these posts.
Needless to say i wish the government does not think like u or we have no future.

You can wish all you want - but this Government does think like me and the industrialists of this country - do think like me (refer to yesterday's closed door CII conference, stated in yesterday's Economic Times).

This discussion has far passed the productive stage. This was my last statement on it.

Those stupid industrialists have invested nil in r&d and are looking for cheap labour for manufacturing ,,nothing more.
And they are correct,,we need that but its a seperate issue.

1)Does it hurt if we increase the education standard too??
2)Does it hurt if we double or triple the post graduate degrees and diplomas??
3)Does it really hurt if the syllabus is revised to make it more in line with international standards??

It costs-------NIL,,zero to do any of this.
Post graduates can be increased by simply enrolling 2-3 students under one guide, its that simple.

U on the other hand are hell bent on claiming that higher education does not matter and no immediate focus is required. Please visit a NIT or lower institute to see whats the state of current institutes.

Yes u make a valid argument.
However our media too is almost at the same level.

Rogozin: India will produce at Mi-17 and Ka-226T

NEW DELHI, Dec. 11 - RIA Novosti. India is in agreement with the Russian Federation will produce on its territory Mi-17 and Ka-226T, and the cars of family "Kamov" will be produced up to 400 a year, told reporters on Thursday, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin.

An agreement on the issue of helicopters was reached after talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who passed on Thursday.

"There are two contracts. One - Mi-17, in which they (Indian side) really need, and the second - the Ka-226T. It's a big contract to build on the territory of India" - Rogozin said. It is planned to produce annually about 400 pieces.
Deputy Prime Minister said that initially, when India announced a tender for the helicopters of this type, the main competitor of the Russian aircraft was a helicopter "Eurocopter". However, he said, due to the unique characteristics of the Ka-226 and special requests of the Indian side the tender was canceled and it was agreed on the deployment of India's production of Russian cars.

Rogozin said that the helicopter will be in the sea and the mountain modification.

WRONG

No 1 focus needs to be education reforms in higher education,,especially in postgraduate degrees and research aspect.

Without that we will always lag behind.

Other points are valid and true though,,but this step is the most important for future and reason why i am miffed is that they decided to make a 12 th pass woman as the education minister.
No amount of explanation can defend this

Educational reforms are important but they don't have an immediate effect. They are more for the longer term. What are we going to do in the meantime? Just wait 20-30 years for the products of a better system to come out?

No,,do both together.
I never suggested to ignore other issues.

What the hesck is going on man ?

Is this simply a cojoling of Russian president or a real deal ?

What's the fate of indian LUH .?

What advantage this one has except twin engines ?

And lastly, you dont need to be a pilot to be the civil aviation minister, you dont need to be a railway engineer to be the Railway minister. What you need is someone competent. The same way, I detest those who say a 12th pass person cannot be the education minister.

I say even a 6th fail person can be the Education Minister of India provided he/she is competent and efficient.

While your argument can't be faulted in theory, there is a issue because the Minister has to deal with some eminently qualified academics & overrule them when necessary. While the basis of your argument can't be faulted, it might have been better to put in a reasonably qualified person or in the alternative, a politician of some standing. Might have been a lot less messy & we wouldn't have been discussing qualification and wasting our time. I don't see the present minister as being less qualified, seems far more intelligent & articulate than many with "higher" qualifications but that has been used as a stick to beat her with making her the story & not focusing on the work. Unfair certainly but could have done without the unnecessary drama.

Oh yes I forgot
Marshal & macho Pakistanis are much taller & stronger than Indians

These sort of things need time to work out & I am sure FGFA & MTA will get signed ASAP

You know the same old martial race BS with 1 Pakistan =10Indian.

On topic:Any development for creating a manufacturing hub in India is good.

Well most of new gen Indians, generally in entire country and particularly in our state have 6 ft.I have 6.1 ft.

So dont use that word if you dont know anything.

And stay on topic.

Isn't that exactly the point. Should we feed into these people's stereotypes? Or should we take them head-on?
These people who never had a problem with 10th fail becoming a Chief Minister or innumerable other ministers in previous governments start to question education qualification of a minister now?

All the while the Minister concerned - Smriti Irani - has proven to be successful not just politically (obvious) but professionally as well - as an actor. Those on the other hand criticizing her are not half as successful in their chosen fields.

Not just is that hypocritical it is also morally wrong to judge a person like that.

What I solely look in a person is his competency and efficiency and will to work. The Bureaucrats, chosen in a highly competitive exam and trained - are there to guide ministers should the Minister need technical help on the subject.
You will also notice that a lot of people have come out stating the same as I, that educational qualification does not matter for Ministerialship as long as the Minister is competent.

You know while I hated the term 'sickular' when it started gaining traction because I felt it lowered the quality of debate in the country, I am starting to come out and see why some people are labelled as such. The visceral hatred is visible - and without reason as well.

On threads discussing Pakistan's acquisition of Mi-35s, Indian members in their supreme knowledge rejected it as trash.

What do they think now if India chooses to assemble them?
It seems you're not aware that Russia has agreed to fully manufacture one of its most advanced helicopters in India, which could be used for military, as well as civilian operations. It has been planned these helicopters will also be exported from India.

This has nothing to do with the Mi-35! :azn:

Frankly how I see it is GOI has said Bye Bye to all domestic industrial projects. From now onwards India would become a country where all the foreign products would be manufactured / assembled. This would allow the low end TOT that only requires few specialised persons and lots of unskilled labour.

All these are just for propaganda.:enjoy:
