What's new

Putin and Modi have agreed on licensed production of a Russian attack helicopter in India

. .
MI-35 is quite advanced version of MI-24 and it was first introduced in 2005 so its not going any where for really long time.

The design is same.
Even upgrade is no match for mi-28ne and ka-52...............please check that urself without bias.

Smaller in size perhaps but endowed with far bigger brains! :P :D

Its much worse off than dhruv in power/weight ratio.
The engines are just 450 shp each vs 1400 shp each for dhruv:agree:.Not to mention lesser speed, range etc.

According to wikipedia a unit costs 4.2 million vs 6+ for dhruv.

.
So at the end of the day, its the Ka-226 that is being built and not the Mi-17?
that is odd, all things considered the latter had more benefits for the Indian forces to licence manufacture rather than the former.
No.
Both included in the number 400.

Labor laws have undergone major reforms and the company management's are fairly protected against unfair union demands. Though, the unions can protest and strike for genuine demands and against unfair practices of the management..
No they have not. What are you talking about.

Its one of the most contentious legislative agenda of the new Govt.
The only State to have done anything qualifying as major labour reforms is Rajasthan that got its approval a month back.

No other state in India has labour reforms. We are all waiting for NDA to pass the labour reforms that we know Congress and every opposition party will oppose and guard like their daughter's virginity. I have no idea how they will get it passed through Rajya Sabha.

True on all counts.
We need these reforms asap otherwise nothing else will work to kick start make in india initiative.

.
Union issues are big time problem in India. I find that Indian union groups are pro-left which in fact will affect those companies :-/
Labour reforms are hopefully going to happen soon. The new govt has said its on their agenda.

Meanwhile one state has already gone ahead and implemented them. So one state(Rajasthan) has very good/progressive labour laws.

True on all counts.

We need all 3 reforms if Make in India is to succeed:
1. Tax reforms - GST and DTC
2. Labour reforms
3. Visa reforms (because when multinationals come for manufacturing and all, you need to have relaxed visa processes, not like the old days when getting a visa to India was a harassing task and a big accomplishment)

Fortunately Visa reforms are already done with Visa on arrival and e-visa being rolled out for all the major countries of the world.

Now Tax reforms and Labour reforms are the major hurdles. Once these are crossed, nothing can stop India from becoming a major manufacturer in the world.

WRONG

No 1 focus needs to be education reforms in higher education,,especially in postgraduate degrees and research aspect.

Without that we will always lag behind.

Other points are valid and true though,,but this step is the most important for future and reason why i am miffed is that they decided to make a 12 th pass woman as the education minister.
No amount of explanation can defend this

Where will we get educated and skill labors, engineers, managers, entrepreneurs, scientists?
Your list is required but Education reforms is and must be first priority.

Nope. You are wrong.
We are talking about Manufacturing boost to India. There is zero need for higher education in post graduation and research to make India a manufacturing powerhouse.

This would be required to make India a knowledge economy. But that is not our number 1 priority. Right now, our priority is to get the factories of the world located here.

And lastly, you dont need to be a pilot to be the civil aviation minister, you dont need to be a railway engineer to be the Railway minister. What you need is someone competent. The same way, I detest those who say a 12th pass person cannot be the education minister.

I say even a 6th fail person can be the Education Minister of India provided he/she is competent and efficient.

Without innovation and research all we will make will be duds based on tot.
U are wrong man.

We need to be smarter than this.

Nah, we need these reforms. These are important but not urgent!

We already have a vast number of engineers, managers. With our current production of these skills, we can become a manufacturing power house.

What manufacturing needs is a good regulatory environment(tax and labour) & infrastructure. With a billion plus population, finding personnel is the easiest part for us.

Have u talked to an engineer yourself??
Please have a chat and listen to what they say.

Same goes with any doctor.

What part of make in India have you found hard to comprehend?
India wants to relocate the worlds factories here - you dont need innovation to mass produce textiles and light bulbs!
Innovation in manufacturing comes at a later stage!

But those factories in India - the ones that will produce screwdrivers and nails to bulbs will bring massive employement and foreign exchange to India.

Trying to put the cart before the horse again and again!
