Next step in right direction for PTV Sports would be getting Premier League license.

Guys PTV is broadcast over their air using analog signal. To make it HD they need to turn the signal to digital for which the most advanced standard is DVB-T which cannot carry 4K signal. So no 4K for now. But they should get the camera equipment which supports 4K.
The new DVB-T2 is in testing phase which can carry 4K signal.
But from the looks of it PTV will go for Chinese technology which can hardly carry 2 HD channels and 12 SD channels at a time.

Forget about 4K, that will take another decade. Anyway going from shitty SD PTV quality to HD will be bigger jump then HD to 4K.

Current biggest content maker are Netflix , Amazon ,Youtube and few other just check how many shows are already in 4K and HDR
Almost every month a new series is coming in 4K
I get what you are saying but i m talking about looking for ahead and saving in long term follow the times why Pakistan always needs to lag behind,
If Pakistan focus on 4k instead of HDR , they will need improve many things specially high speed internet at decent price which is other story.
Chinese companies are already making decent 4k tv at pennies cost so it's affordable , it will open new market for Pakistani avam
So Pakistan can match world instead of lagging a generation behind in every thing ,

Just check current Pakistani online streaming channels and compare with others


Yup switched to 4K hdr in 2016 only ( Marco polo ) was available in HDR at that time

If this is OTA; then 720 is fine; 4k takes up too much bandwith. Sire, this is for the elite only not for ordinary masses.
