Rawalpindi - April 19, 2016:
General Raheel Sharif, Chief of Army Staff visited Signal Regimental Centre Kohat today. At an installation ceremony COAS pinned the badges of rank on the shoulders of Major General Sohail Ahmed Zaidi, Singnal-in-Chief to formally install him Colonel Commandant of Corps of Signal. Interacting with officers, men and families of Shuhada COAS commended the extra ordinary efforts of ranks of signals Corps in providing communication support to Op Zarb-e-Azb. He also appreciated the sacrifices rendered both by men in uniform and civilians alike in defeating the terrorists and dislodging them from their bases. COAS further said, on going war against terrorism and extremism being fought with the backing of entire nation can not bring enduring peace and stability unless the menace of corruption is not uprooted. Therefore, across the board accountability is necessary for the solidarity, integrity and prosperity of Pakistan. Pakistan Armed Forces will fully support every meaningful effort in that direction, which would ensure a better future for our next generations.

excellent decision. not only he has moral superiority now (by accepting SC's decision and letting law take its course) but also maneuvered his party out from a clear dead end. dharna was the last card in his hand. if it had failed he would have no trump card but now looks like he is back in the game...finally a wise decision

@The Eagle Pakistan will wait for a just decision by the SC. Pakistan will also see what PA does with DawnLeak criminals. We will see the results, all in good time. lets hope they are betterment for Pakistan.

if pak army had done its job with memo leeks this never would have happened in the first place

Few days ago, Mark Lyall Grant..the initiator of original NRO came to Pak, met PM< and army chief both... few days later, SS, Ch Nisar and Ishaq Dar met Army chief..and now we see, today, tht nothing unexpected happened today in SC......everyone, including PTI knew...SC was hearing the case today.. till yesterday..they were saying dharna at all cost...and now...all of a sudden backed out.. raat hi raat main kiya hogaya?

Regd security breach case.. well.. we will see tht too..... another committee by the govt..another face saving tactic by everyone..... when nothing is to be done in Pak, a committee is formed... with only 29 days left for Gen Raheel Sharif to retire.. lets see...whether this security breach case is taken to logical conclusion before his retirement...or as expected prolonged till after his retirement... ye bhi dekh lein ge

You are merely viewing things through NRO glass which is not the case here at all.

Even for the sake of arguments, if Mr. Grant was here then once it was Sen. McCain as well that met everyone including COAS but Zardari is still not allowed to come so the same is for any corrupt in this Country that at-least, current system of PA is in non mood to compromise at all.

PTI might cancelled the Dharna because of SC that everyone was at impression (as happened in past) that this time as well, SC or any Court wouldn't take such decision of accountability against sitting PM or his family but as it is done what Opposition needed, so there is no need to cause chaos or giving any chance to anti-Pakistan elements for the damage. IMO, only those who wanted to see unrest, chaos and riots would be calling this a conspiracy otherwise, let the Law work itself and let the Court act as what it is meant to be. The rest are merely speculations.

No compromise of National Security at all whether it is related to Dawn Leak or anyone which can cause damage internally or externally. People cannot be hanged overnight without any proceedings or given a chance to defend themselves before the Court of Law. The remedy is for everyone and all needs to follow the process otherwise it is going to be the same narrative as past "The System is not working properly", I mean, at-least let it be. No need to drag Military into everything, after all this is what PMLn and alike wants to do this time, but let the justice be served in proper manners.

It's a good decision by supreme court, till before Dracula league was reluctant to agree tors without noora kings name, I hope supreme Court doesn't drag the cases like before, a wise decision by pti to call off Dharna for now.

Supreme Court saying that they will decide on TOR's if no agreement on TOR's. Nawaz will play the game now by passing the PPP's Panama Bill to nullify SC formed TOR's. if you want to know Nawaz plans, listen to PPP people.

Wise move by Imran Khan. Let Supreme court assume its responsibility. If they fail us then we the citizens of Pakistan will handle the situation. But we should try to strengthen our Judiciary System to make independent decisions.

Problem is that we as a nation want instant change like Martial Law. That is not a long term solution, never has been. And when that instant change doesn't happen, Army gets blamed for it.

We need to shift from these short term goal achievement mentality.

Well, in addition to commission, SC called attention to other options as well. Commission is there because parties agreed to it, Sheikh Rasheed's petition will not be the part of commission, it will be entertained separately most prolly by the same larger bench.

The Court clearly said it could investigate itself.
