Rs 0 per month increase in circular debt.... Meaning after Dec 2020 we will be in a position to start paying off the circular debt which has already accumulated and will accumulate by then.

Circular debt was not difficult to fix from the beginning if govt reduce subsidies and increase taxes along with control on theft.Previous govt gave subsidies on electricity for winning election .The real challenge for govt is generation of power from cheap sources so burden on public decrease in long run and industry may benefit from cheap electricity and compete internationally

Circular debt decrease will help in pouring in more investment in energy sector of Pakistan. Omer Ayub has mentioned that there next target is to fix energy mix issue in which they will try to create 70% electricity from own resources which will save lot of $$$ for country.

Since gov is running campaign against theft by putting around 4000 in jails, they are not just increasing prices but also recovering bills. So not easy in post 18th amendment Pakistan.

In any case getting rid of circular debt is must to attract investment. Though it shouldnt be done by only increasing price.

There is not massive hike in energy price. Cheap electricity will only come when we will create most energy from our resources.

By increasing prices of electricity in 3 stages along other steps.

Btw in previous years PMLN government always claimed that they completely eradicated loadshedding, but as soon as summers would arrive , load sheddig would start again . Which isn’t the case. The loadsheding this time is not even 50% of what it was previous year. Though i know that depend on recoveries from a grid. On our grid there is a whole village of some 150-200 houses where 70% of people dont have meters and use kunda. Die to which the whole feeder suffer load sheddig.. i mean how is it my fault and others like me ? PESCO is supposed to stop it instead of making us suffer for 2-3 hours each day. Bring some 200+ police solve this shit. and if necessary and there is no other way around , takeback the wires and electric polls. No electricity for such a village.

Problem was circular debt that why IPP were not producing electricity due debt... Now due to circular debt is decreasing they are willing to produce electricity. Further line losses recovery has also decrease.
