PTI Comprehensively Humiliated in Karachi

Nothing surprise ...state has establishEd the rule of PPP in Sindh..not an ordinary person. ...so PTI win of its own in PUnjab but not in Sindh ...State has made sure PPP stay in Sindh while there focus was just Punjab...votes doesn't matter a lot ...we All know how elections are managed in pakistan..no need to blame ordinary citizens facing the burn of state policies
No one in state has made sure of it except people of Sindh. Stop blaming everyone else except yourselves.

Don't know why people can't get it through their heads.. PTI has failed Karachi, and in return, the voters didn't come out to waste their time in Ramadan.

If they have to live like the same, whether they support PTI, PMLN, PPP, PSP, Democrats or Republicans etc, they will continue to live like how they are living after Musharraf/ Mustafa Kamal's development work. So why waste energy during your fast.

It's time for us voters to stay at home, and enjoy watching the powerful corridors fight each other.

From sixth to first: How did PPP win NA-249?

In a surprising turn of events on Thursday, the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) won the by-polls in Karachi’s NA-249, a multi-ethnic constituency comprising areas of Baldia Town, where the party had performed poorly in the past general and local government polls.

For many analysts and politicians in the constituency, it is hard to comprehend how the PPP could pull out a win, considering that it ranked sixth, by securing over 7,000 votes in the 2018 general polls, but came out first on Thursday with 16,156 votes.

One reason is that the PPP took the by-polls in NA-249 seriously mainly because the constituency is now part of newly-carved District Kemari. This signals an effort by the ruling party in Sindh to secure a better position in the upcoming local government polls.

In order to ensure a win in the by-election, PPP’s strategy was to woo voters by carrying out local arrangements of resolving civic issues, such as installing water and sewerage lines, and carpeting broken roads.

For example, the PPP gained some 3,000 votes from one Pashtun-populated locality after its Karachi leaders installed water and sewerage pipe lines on demands of local notables ahead of the by-polls.

So support of the provincial government, city and district administration in carrying out small level developments in the constituency helped the PPP to win the NA-249.

Rival political parties, mainly the PML-N, insisted the Election Commission of Pakistan take notice of this, but even that did not stop the development work.

Then, another reason for its victory was that the PPP is one party that constantly remains in election mode. It has recently started to expand its network and electoral influence to Karachi from rural Sindh by gradually taking advantage of the weakening of the MQM, and the new delimitation of constituencies on the basis of the controversial census.

Although the PPP failed to gain significant results in the 2018 general polls from Karachi, gaining successes in the by-polls in the ethnically mixed constituency, such as NA-249, became easy for it by conducting local arrangements and shifting the government machinery entirely towards the constituency.

Thirdly, the counting of ballots that continued till early morning, even when voter turnout was disappointedly very low, raised several questions on the results of the by-polls.

Interestingly, a day before the by-polls, former premier and PML-N leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi had voiced fears of rigging. He had said that the provincial government had been deploying PPP’s favourite polling staff at specific polling stations.

acha bhashan aur speech hai but sirf 1 line ka jawab dei do wo kafi hoga

PTI ne aesa kia kaam kara karachi ke liye ab tak koiye 1 step? ab bhashan na dena u are not the only one with knowledge while debating with ppl who actually born and living in karachi for decades.
One question to you what great work Zardari has done and Altaf has done for Karachi except burning people alive and slaughtering and drilling people. They ruled you for three decades and they didn't faced 18th amendment which PTI is facing this despite announcing one of the biggest package for Karachi it can't do much. I am just enjoy your miserable still pathetic attempt to defend MAFIA Don's Altaf and Zardari and your miserable sickening excuse of being their slave.

Ohh my God. PTI received even less than TLP.. That's hilarious.

Then don't cry when target killers and those who burn people alive in factories return. Because they will return and people of Karachi will have no one to blame except themselves. You will have nothing to enjoy really very soon if you continue being loyal to Bhutto and Altaf. It's biggest delusion that you will have anything to be happy about.

Come out of this flawed thinking that Karachi supports PPP/ MQM now.

Gone is gone. PTI couldn't deliver ANYTHING after winning 14 of 21 seats from Karachi, without which it was not possible for them to form government in the center.

And what could have been done in the presence of 18th amendment? This is a question answered by PTI itself when it initiated some development projects in Karachi recently.

ok governor raj laga do ab jawab do kyn nahi lagati pti ?

@Zarvan
Just saying but PTI managed to federalize Hospitals in Karachi and seized an Island (forgot its name). So i mean it's pretty disingenuous to say PTI could do nothing when clearly it could do something as shown in these cases. Also if they can't do anything why even announce the 'uplifts' it's like adding salt to the wound..

Zarvan I though you were an intelligent person.

Anyway, just read the result again and again.. 80% population didn't vote for anyone in this constituency.

And leave behind your only reason to bash Karachi voters.. that they supported MQM in the past. Those days are gone.

By the way, PMLN/ PTM and PPP are far more dangerous parties who have damaged Pakistan's image more than MQM. Still people vote for them.. Your energies should be spent on saving the left over support base in Punjab, where PTI will lose badly to PMLN in next elections.

Start telling the voters in Punjab then that why they are voting killers of model town.

Hospitals ka haal dekha hai? My cousin was admitted in a government hospital where a fan had fallen on a patient next to her.

PTI se baatain jitni karwani hain karwalo, kaam nahi hota inn se.

TLP has ground support and presence in at least 2 provinces of Pakistan

Just like RSS. Pakistan in the hands of these goons will see mismangement as worse as what India is going through at the hands of the Hindu lunatics ruling over there.

Alhumdulillah

1st PML (N) (clown show by Maryam bibi to start soon)
2nd TLP (good to see them on second)
3rd Pee Pee Pee (who the eff is voting for these scoundrels)
4th PSP (good)
5th mqm (good)
6th PTI (make a batti of 18th amendment and shove it up your as$)

When a government that promises public welfare will put public welfare back in the gear. When professional politicians and those who change parties will get government posts ignoring the capable people in PTI. When people like Fawad Chaudhry have no one to stop them from making anti-religious statements. When people like Sheikh Rashid, who were called scoundrels and looters by Khan Sahib in the past, will enjoy the ministries and cultivate sectarianism. When quite and often the departments of ministers will be changed in a ridiculous way. And when stupid decisions are made, the results will be like this and even worse in the future.

The nation is fed up with this corruption show of democracy. I pray to Allah for the martial law of a true Muslim patriotic general like Gen. Zia-ul-Haq
