Proposal to have female cheerleaders in PSL matches turned down

I can feel the liberals burn lol.
I'm a liberal and I see absolutely no point in having cheer leaders, in any sport. It's nothing more than objectifying women to titillate sections of a male audience.

If the goal is to have some sort of entertainment, those 'sparklers' or fireworks that shoot out of the ground when someone hits a boundary or takes a wicket would probably be more 'dazzling', and the teams/PCB can always look at hiring singers/bands etc to perform at half time instead of using cheerleaders.

Awww... very bad step by the management. Infact it is a revolt against the trillion dollars advertisement and makeup industry that wants the women to get as naked as they can.

It's not about what the industry wants - the focus for any business is to make money. Advertisements are designed to appeal to a core audience and generate awareness and sales. The advertisements are what they are because a large part of the audience likes those commercials.

This isn't some 'liberal, advertisement and makeup industry' conspiracy - Pakistanis get the ads that a majority of the audience wants to see. Pakistanis can simply refuse to buy products from a company whose advertisements 'offend their cultural sensitivities'.

Advertisements are also used to make the minds of people, persuading and motivating them to adopt the trends introduced by particular manufacturer. It is not simply a trend following campaign, it is more than that. It sets its own trends and urge people to adopt those habits and lifestyle.

Every section of market have its own arguments to sell its product. It is not about liberal, islamist, fundamentalist or anything. They are here to make money and if anything creates hurdle in their way of making money, they will automatically use all of their force to put that thing into place. SIMPLE!

. .
its simple, If anyone has a problem then they should provide their sisters/daughters for the event
Sisters and daughters are not 'property' or 'commodities' to be 'provided for an event'.

A better way of saying this is that people should let their daughters or sisters make the decisions they want to, assuming they (daughters and sisters) are adults.

And minds are 'made up' because people 'like' said commercials and choose to watch them and be influenced by them. At the end of the day no one is forcing people (at least not adults) to watch certain commercials or be influenced by them.

we are not talking about semantics but the deeds, if someone has no problem with watching someone's daughter dance then they should not have a problem having others watch their daughter dance, whether provided or asked or requested or forced is not under discussion

So you'd be okay with your sister/daughter doing this?

I am against female cheer leaders because I don't like objectifying women they are not show piece .

. .
As a liberal I object to female cheerleaders. The objectification of women in the form of over sexulised scantly clad women does not add to the great product the PSL is and in fact having it focused just on the cricket makes it the best T20 tournament. If any the IPL has shown us is how tacky and crap the IPL cheer leaders look, so cheap they had to import so half good looking whitey to come and dance. We don't want to be that ffing cheap.
