Well, this is just like deja vu now...

Excitement is building just like it used to be in lates 1990s and very early 2000's when we were expecting Thunder's first flight but no one had actually seen the plane.

At least this news has confirmed the fact that PAF's own 5th Generation Fighter Program is in motion and it is running with the collaboration of a country which already has designed two different 5GF's successfully in the very short span of time.

We will have to wait for some leaks from our Chinese brothers for initial CAD designs, mock ups and prototypes of this thing ... After 31 Dec. 2017, it must be 1st January 2023 next day P

I would personally like to see a J-31 based strike fighter with secondary air to air role and later a TFX based air superiority fighter with secondary ground attack role. But PAF may go for a pure bred multi-role for obvious reasons.

2023 is the projected IOC date for the FC-31.
