Hmm... Its a good concept, but some modifications such as modifying tank gun to NATO 120mm could be done to help with logistics.

Or new NATO 130mm gun
Yes I think like you future Arab tank should have NATO guns because guns and ammunition are better than russian versions

It wouldnt work I`m afraid.Altho you might in theory be able to mount the nato120mm gun in a t90 turret, the big problem would be the autoloader and its 2 piece ammo, which is quite unlike natos one piece ammo.So not only would you be looking at having to try to fit a new gun,but you would also have to completely redesign the autoloader as well, which would not be a small undertaking.Besides the whole point,in theory at least,of having the same type of weapon system from another supplier is that it gives you a valuable second option/back up just in case, for whatever reason, you no longer have access to the original suppliers logistical support and back up....sorta like the iraqis and their abrams in fact[lol!].

Ukrainian are offering NATO guns on their tanks for export now I think Poland also offer that to upgrading kits

The ukrainian 120mm fitted tanks have new turrets and bustle mounted autoloaders, rather than the old under turret carousel type that you`d find on the t90.

It will be interesting to see what kind of deals that will be signed when Putin visits KSA in October. The S-400 might be finalized "officially" (not sure what the level of ToT will be), possibly a nuclear venture with Russia for some of the 15-20 nuclear power plants that are planned to be built in KSA before 2030 and deals of the nature that this thread is about.

Gaining insight up close about Russian, Chinese, Eastern European, Western etc. tech should serve as a valuable foundation for the growing and promising indigenous defense industry.

The policy of some kind of degree of ToT in every deal was a promising start and we have seen the fruits of that already.

So why not with Russia as well?
