President Trump launches military strike against the Al-Assad regime

Yes I was born and raised in England, and it's lovely here.
What have drone strikes in Pakistan got to do with anything? The last few wiped out horrible people. Yes some have hit innocent folks, but then the government and army agreed to these strikes.
Murdering Syrian soldiers? What the same ones murdering, raping and pillaging their own people. I still back them against ISIS but this chemical weapons attack was evil.
There has been no evidence provided about chemical attack being done by Assad. If Assad did it USA did the right thing but without evidence what USA did is a war crime.

The United States informed Turkey before it attacked a Syrian base early on April 7, Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu told reporters on April 7 in Antalya.

“U.S. Ambassador to Ankara John Bass contacted to our [Foreign Ministry] undersecretary Ümit Yalçın,” Çavuşoğlu said.

Information on the attack was also diffused through the coalition members fighting against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), Çavuşoğlu said, stressing “there is no problem on this.”

Çavuşoğlu also said he had spoken by phone with the French and German foreign ministers, although he did not say when.

He also said contacts had been initiated with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.

The minister also called for Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's immediate removal, saying a transitional government must be established.

"It is necessary to oust this regime as soon as possible from the leadership of Syria," Cavusoğlu said.

"If he doesn't want to go, if there is no transition government, and if he continues committing humanitarian crimes, the necessary steps to oust him should be taken," he said.

He also added that safe zones for civilians in Syria were now more important than ever.

I have seen enough people condemning Assad without evidence. Please give some evidence so that we all can condemn him and praise USA. The last Chemical attack which was blamed on Assad turned out to be done by ISIS after UN investigation.

UK and USA lost their credibility after the WMD incident of Iraq. USA and NATO are required to provide evidence here.

but this chemical weapons attack was evil.
I am also confused about that chemical attack, the obvious thing is that USA was completely aware of that attack was going to happen so i think that this is an other false flag operation. I condemn anyone who used it against Syrian people
Don't forget, USA ruined Libya, Iraq, and many other Muslim countries with direct military inasion, wonder why you haven't known those thugs.
They themselves created Taliban to fight Soviets in Afghanistan, now did the same about ISIS and Russian presence in Syria. Always bargaining with Pakistan on Taliban's issue. This is their policy towards Muslim countries and enslaving them for decades.

So all the missiles reached their targets?

The US strike on Shayrat Airbase in Syria killed 14 people including nine innocent civilians, the governor of Homs told RT.
Speaking to RT Arabic, Talal al-Barazi said the majority of victims of the missile strike carried out by the United States on Friday morning had been local villagers.

US missile strike against Syria
“Undoubtedly, the American attack on the Shayrat air force base was aimed at supporting terrorist groups and weakening the fighting capacity of the army of the Syrian Army, which is fighting the terrorists,” Barazi told RT. “According to recent reports, the attack resulted in the deaths of five soldiers and nine civilians and the wounding of thirteen women and children who were in the nearby Shayrat village.”

“This aggression towards Syria is not the first and is unlikely to be the last.”

Syria’s official SANA news agency earlier on Friday reported that "an American missile also hit the village of Al-Hamrat, which killed four civilians including a child."

"Another seven civilians were wounded when a missile hit homes in Al-Manzul, 4 kilometres (two and a half miles) away from the Shayrat air base," it added, citing sources.

At 4:40am local time (00:40 GMT), 59 Tomahawk missiles were fired at the base from US warships based in the Eastern Mediterranean. The missile strike was ordered by US President Donald Trump, in retaliation for what the US claims was a chemical weapons attack in Idlib on Tuesday. Trump has blamed it on forces loyal to the Syrian government.

Vladimir Safronkov, Russia’s deputy ambassador to the UN, criticized the reaction to the Syrian airstrike, as well as the general double standards used when talking about alleged crimes committed by the Syrian government, versus those of the Americans and their allies.

“The attack in Syria is an attempt to distract attention from the many victims among the peaceful population of Iraq and Syria caused by unilateral actions,” Safronkov said before a meeting of the UN Security Council on Friday. “Where’s your principle of assuming innocence? Why don’t your capitals recall this? In the Middle East and other regions, why do you forget the presumption of innocence in these cases?”

You will have to interpret this map for me. I am unable to read it.

Another point is that we hae conflicting stories: some say that all missiles hit their intended targets, others say only a proportion hit their targets. So which does one accept???

Oh no they do not, They are the spreaders of Democracy and Human rights around the world. How dare you, an uncouth native, question the Peacemakers!

trump has also vowed to tackle north korea with or without china. But ultimately he is going to endanger world peace.

Israel has signed but not ratified the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC).[19] In 1983 a report by the CIA stated that Israel, after "finding itself surrounded by frontline Arab states with budding CW capabilities, became increasingly conscious of its vulnerability to chemical attack... undertook a program of chemical warfare preparations in both offensive and protective areas... In late 1982 a probable CW nerve agent production facility and a storage facility were identified at the Dimona Sensitive Storage Area in the Negev Desert. Other CW agent production is believed to exist within a well-developed Israeli chemical industry."[20]

There are also speculations that a chemical weapons program might be located at the Israel Institute for Biological Research (IIBR[21]) in Ness Ziona.[22]

190 liters of dimethyl methylphosphonate, a CWC schedule 2 chemical used in the synthesis of sarin nerve gas, was discovered in the cargo of El Al Flight 1862 after it crashed in 1992 en route to Tel Aviv. Israel insisted the material was non-toxic, was to have been used to test filters that protect against chemical weapons, and that it had been clearly listed on the cargo manifest in accordance with international regulations. The shipment was from a U.S. chemical plant to the IIBR under a U.S. Department of Commerce license.[23]

In 1993, the U.S. Congress Office of Technology Assessment WMD proliferation assessment recorded Israel as a country generally reported as having undeclared offensive chemical warfare capabilities.[2] Former US deputy assistant secretary of defense responsible for chemical and biological defense Dr. Bill Richardson said in 1998 "I have no doubt that Israel has worked on both chemical and biological offensive things for a long time... There's no doubt they've had stuff for years."

According to this Russian General, it takes time to prepare missiles to perform such attacks, and as such these missiles were prepared for the attack before the chemical attack on civilians. Any thoughts?

Someone mentioned earlier in this thread that it takes a week to program this tomahawks, that's absolutely ridiculous. It's akin to programming an auto-pilot with GPS coordinates on an airplane or a boat with a chartpolotter and similar autopilot with GPS (latitude & longitude) something that literally takes 10 to 15 minutes to do. They would be useless weapons to have on standby in patroling naval destroyers and submarines if that was the case.

Tomahawk works differently that is why the missile is so deadly and anti missile defense systems cannot catch it.

GPS guided weapons are not that precise but Cruise missiles can enter through a window and take a kill so they use different guidence system which requires extensive programming.

"Unlike other air defense systems, say the S-400 Triumf, the S-300VM has additional capabilities against missile attacks. It is capable of intercepting warheads traveling at a speed of up to 5 kilometers per second and destroying them at a maximum altitude of 30 kilometers," he explained.

Lieutenant General Aitech Bizhev indirectly confirmed this assessment. The Antey-2500, he said, is primarily tasked with "countering a massive cruise missile airstrike on administrative, industrial or military objects, as well as our forces." He also told Svobodnaya Pressa that the S-300V4 is better at intercepting cruise missiles than the more advanced S-400.

The S-300V4, an upgraded version of the S-300VM, is "a highly automated and extremely efficient weapon," Bizhev said, adding that its readiness time is five minutes.

In service since 2013, the S-300V4 (NATO designation SA-23 Gladiator) is meant to track and intercept short- and medium-range ballistic missile, aeroballistic and cruise missiles, as well as fixed-wing aircraft, ECM (electronic countermeasure) platforms and precision-guided munitions. can simultaneously engage up to 24 aircraft or 16 ballistic targets in various combinations.

On November 2016 , a Russian Su-24M frontline bomber was downed into Syrian territory by a Turkish air-to-air missile. One of the Russian pilots, Lt. Col. Oleg Peshkov, was killed by ground fire as he parachuted from the plane and the other pilot was rescued and taken to a Russian base.

Turkey defended its action, saying it repeatedly told the Russia pilots they were entering Turkey's airspace. Russia's Defense Ministry said "there was no violation of Turkey's airspace."

Because of no apology from Turkey, Russia instituted restrictive economic measures against Turkey.
