Lmaoooo I remember that shit the most awkward convo ever. Btw welcome back bro. :D

When I told what it was about my impression was that no member/person reading my claim would have believed it but since there were dozens of witnesses I am safe.:D

I was banned by a highly biased moderator after a Turk started trolling and then the 1-2 usual idiotic Indian users joined in and I had to put them in place. Later I saw that they were making up hundreds of lies about my person without any foundation. Hilarious.
@al-Hasani :raise: I didnt see the pix :raise:

It was my most recent one. Not the old one that I used as my avatar for months. You would have liked it for sure.

Anyway Allah (swt) took my side and I survived the exam with a rather good and somewhat surprising result for me. I got an 5. Normally I am usually good at keeping my cool but today, man, it was tough. A real horror. I thought that I had screwed up big time several times during the exam but apparently both of the examiners were just grumpy and tired since I was the last pupil left. I had the exam at 13.00 PM while they had been examining people since Monday (from 8.00 AM to 14.00 PM) and from 8.00 AM today. So I was not only the last one today but the last one for the entire week and actually the last pupil participating in that particular exam overall in the university.:)

You can always go on for your Masteral's or Ph.D, which will give you a qualitative edge over other competition.

Yes, that's obviously something that I have seriously thought about. But there is still plenty of time to decide for that.:)

I'm currently a Ph.D candidate in Industrial & Organizational Psychology , and after almost 4 years of doctoral courses, am now working on dissertation phase. Trust me, there's a lot of opportunities if you do decide to go get your doctorate.

You have options to go into research & academia, as well as go into industry.

For myself, I am college lecturer / instructor , where i teach 3 undergrad psychology and management courses per semester. It's required for most PH.D doctoral students. I have the option to stay in academia to teach and do research, or if i want to go into industry/business...there's also very high opportunities in that.

If i decide to go to industry sector, I already have contacts with major businesses in Talent Acquisition / HR Personnel Departments. And for Ph.Ds, they are starting their salary at $95,000 +. A colleague of mine who works for GM as in TQ/HR makes over $125,000 a year, and he also teaches online.

So, there's a lot of opportunity in Masteral or Ph.D route. I encourage the doctoral program anyways.

Bachelor's degrees are a dime in a dozen nowadays.....

Best,

You are completely right. The bachelor is a small step in comparison but it is nevertheless a good start especially if your grades are above average and you have working experience and as me also experience from universities abroad. It all depends on your individual plans, ambitions and the actual opportunities put forward to you. There are a lot of choices that you have to make. It's quit3 hectic since I am not sure whether I should return back to Paris or leave Denmark for the US which I was lucky enough to study in for 1 year. In fact that's what I want to do but whether it will happen is a completely different thing.

Anyway all the best of luck with your Ph.D. I hear that it's very time consuming but by then you should master your trait so on many fronts it gets easier from what I know and have heard. You might correct me on that one though.

Sry dude im very paranoid about these things, i allready said may name and location here, its allready too much, i dont even have a Facebook account. :D
WOAH, dude even the Talebans have facebook accounts, but you, remind me of my school mate who thought he was so beautiful he didnt make a facebook account due to the fear that random girls would come to his house.............

But its true, better safe than sorry, there are some sick people lurking around in Internet, now enjoy your Facebook time. :D
i have a facebook profile but only less than 50 ppl know my real face in the whole world

Never, there is not a single photo of me on the Internet, at least not that i know.
maybe there is, dont underestimate stalkers

To be quite honest with you @al-Hasani , when i first came to the US for my graduate work, I was rather nervous because of my accent. As the years progressed, i've become almost atuned to the American dialectics , and lingual differences and developed a fondness for the American lifestyle. It's very different , truly, to the society in Japan where there is emphasis on intrapersonal deveopment, here in the United States there is more of an extrapersonal dynamic. This is why I've seriously been thinking about staying in the US to work aside from going back to Japan. The only thing that i find trying is the mere fact that I don't have family here in the 'states. Everyone is back home in Japan.

Do you have family in Denmark? Any relatives? Or are they all back in your home country?

Thank you for the well wishes, my friend. I'm now working on my literature review section , which will be a good 2-3 chapters. I'm sure you hear this a lot considering you're an engineering student, but yes...always citate ! lol.

PS. What specialty in engineering are you in? Mechanical? Biomedical? Chemical? Civil? Electrical?

My English is a mixture of Arabic, French and American English. I am not worried about the accent which is not a problem. It's more about taking the final big step. That's good to hear. Yes, the apparent stereotype is that you Japanese tend to be more reserved. To be honest with you then I have only known 1 single Japanese person (I know far more Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai etc. people) so I cannot verify such a stereotype. You are completely right about the social environment in the US. In this way it is very similar to Western Europe. In particular Southern Europe. Where I am now (Denmark and Scandinavia overall) people tend to be social as well but mostly when alcohol is nearby.

Can you tell me what you prefer about Japan compared to the US? I have never been to Japan so I am unfamiliar with the country.

My family is rather mixed and found across the ME, Western Europe and I have relatives in the US as well although they are more distant. I don't have any relatives in Denmark. In Europe most of my closer relatives live in France and the UK.

Yes, I have stumbled across that sentence a few times indeed.

Chemical.

PS: Did I ever tell you that you seem to be a fast writer? I might have a competitor here. Not only do you write fast but long posts as well.:)

Tell me, why don't you visit the Arab Section or the "Arabic Coffee" thread? We Arabs are at good terms with our ancient trading partners the Chinese but that does not mean that we cannot have a close relationship to you the Japanese.

Anyway I might ask you this already. Why do Japanese and Chinese people hate each other so much despite being cousins and so close people culturally, genetically, in terms of look etc.? Let me reprahse my question. Was the hostility as big before WW2 between you or is it a more post-WW2 phenomenon?

Thanks.

Living in the United States is great, really, because it has allowed me to develop my English, and to take up some sports activities that i never thought about doing before; ergo, basketball, football (touch, not the full on contact, LOL), kayaking, canoeing etc.

Some things that I prefer in Japan: 1) we really place emphasis on food and quality of food, sometimes if i go to a restaurant here in 'US, they don't cook it properly , or the presentation of the food is not up to par. The food is also too oily here, lol. 2) Work ethic. I tend to notice that Americans are the type of people who like to do things only as expected, never to the point where it is considered 'excellent' or 'above the expectation'. I notice this in my students who work with me in research or from my American friends when we go out, or when we set to do tasks. 3) Sense of family and large nuclear family is prevalent in Japan. I don't see it in the United States, and the sense of filial piety (honor and respect for parents, elders) is not as common in the 'states. I personally find it very disrespectful for younger children to shout at their elderes, or even strangers who might happen to be older. This does not happen in Japan.

These are just minor social differences, which is understanding considering that there is a very profound difference between Western and Easter cultures and society. But despite these differences, I do find it comfortable living here. I've done some experimenting while living here, things that i never would have thought about doing back in Japan. lol. For example, i've dated women of different backgrounds; I dated Korean-Americans, African-American, and American Whites. I like the openess of America, lol. The different flavors, so to say. :)

That's awesome that you have a lot of family in ME and Europe! I bet you are very fluent in Danish language eh? How many languages do you speak? As for Chemical Engineering, that's a good choice ! You will find a lot of opportunities in that field.

Hoping to get to know you more here, buddy.

Regards,

I'll have to visit that section, brother. I'm still learning to explore more the many threads on PDF. But thank you for the invitation, will definitely partake in discourse there. :)
