china is producing so many jets like j 10 j10b j11 j11b j16 j xx j31 j20 i am confused are they mad why so many different jets then i thought may be different companies giving options to plaaf shenyang or chengdu. SO WHICH JETS WILL BE INVENTORY OF PLAAF IN 2025 AND HOW MUCH WHO GOONA WIN SHENYANG OR CHENGDU OR BOTH COMPANIES JETS WILL BE PROCURE.

They are different planes, for different roles and some belong to different generations. Some of the planes are variants, not completely different planes, like J10, J10B etc., These variants might be upgraded ones, or may be sold to other countries like Pakistan.

Some are manufactured so that some other country can paint it and heave a sigh of relief !! :D :D

most of the planes r variants or rather upgrades of the basic design like J10 - J10B,etc. More of like we going from Mig 29 to UPG standards
But most of these planes serve different purpose for PLAAF

But if ur talking about 2025 onwards i think China would be focusing more on stleath planes mainly like J20, J31,etc. As most of them would probably mature by then n will be in mass production mode, although present inventories of J-10B, J-11,etc will remain till completion of their life...:agree:

Here is my prediction:

300 J-20
500 J-31
500 J-10B
1000 SU-27/30/J-11/J-15/J-16.
50 unknown stealth bomber - range enough to strike US from Chinese mainland

All the older fighters like J-8 and J-7 would have been retired. J-10A's would have been upgraded to
J-10B standard

This force would be by far the most powerful on the Asian continent.

Don't forget new Non GPS guided systems plus 50 J-15 flying shark, 40 Type 54A with 30 AAM, new Type 052D with 70+ HQ AB missiles etc

Are you kidding 800 5th Gen planes

Realistic figure would be
200 5th Gen Fighters
1000+ 4++gen Fighters( J10/10b/11/11b)

Well China's economy is predicted to be larger than the US by 2025, so why not 800?

If a much poorer India can afford to buy around 200 5th generation fighters by 2025, then why can't a much richer China produce 800?

The point is not about buying alone but maintaining it. The US uses its weapons with its alliance in NATO by invading around the world. China on the other hand has neither an alliance nor a war economy; it has a manufacturing economy similar to Korea, Taiwan and Japan which relies on production and sale of commercial products rather than just military hardware.

There's a stark contrast between the two countries.

You cannot apply the big economy-big air force logic just blindly.

Oh and our PAKFA plans have been slashed to 144 units.
