Population census 2017: Men outnumber women in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: The provisional results of the 6th Population and Housing Census 2017 point out to the fact that men in Pakistan are in larger quantity than women.
According to the press release of the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, the number of men in the country stand at 106,449,322 while the number of women are 101,314,780. The total population of Pakistan stands at 207,774,520. Meanwhile, there are 10,418 transgenders in Pakistan.
Speaking percentage-wise, men form 51%, women 48.76% and transgenders 0.24% of the total population of Pakistan.
The gap between the male and female ratio among the population is also increasing. The sex ratio for the whole country stands at 105.07, which means that there are 105 men for 100 women in Pakistan.
Among the provinces, the sex ratio is the highest in Balochistan (110) while in Islamabad Capital Territory it stands at 111.
