The only question that comes to my mind. What did Romanian kaffir guys and girls have that Pakistan had to go hire them to build a ship when Pakistan has over 200 million pious Muslims?

It not a Romanian company, it’s a Dutch company with a shipyard in Romania.

The 2,300-ton ship is part of a two-vessel order with Dutch shipbuilder Damen, signed by the Pakistan Ministry of Defence in 2017. Both ships are built at Damen Shipyards Galati in Romania.

The first unit, PNS Yarmook (F-271), joined the Pakistan Navy’s fleet in February this year.

Like its sister vessel, PNS Tabuk is a multipurpose, highly adaptable platform, capable of performing a wide variety of operations in a complex maritime environment. The newbuild is able to launch a helicopter and a UAV, as well as two RHIBs simultaneously.

Back in September 2019, Damen Shipyards Galati launched the offshore patrol vessel (OPV) PNS Tabuk.

The sister vessels measure 90 meters in length and can reach a maximum speed of 23 knots.

Two more Yarmook-class corvettes are planned to be built under the Pakistan Navy’s modernization program.

Yarmook-Class Corvette (Damen OPV 1900)

The Yarmook-class corvette is a 2,300-ton design the Pakistan Navy acquired for anti-surface and anti-air operations as well as maritime security operations, day/night helicopter operations, combat search and rescue, and surveillance and intelligence missions.

Based on a scale model, the Yarmook-class will be equipped with a remote weapon station for a cannon, but the caliber is not clear. It is not a 76 mm main gun, rather, it seems to be the size the Aselsan STAMP.

The scale model shows two quad-cell launchers for anti-ship missiles (AShM). If the PN is continuing with this arrangement, then the AShM is likely the C-802A. If it instead switches to the Harbah, then it will add two three-cell launchers instead. The latter would offer a land-attack capability to the Yarmook-class.

The scale model includes a close-in-weapons-system (CIWS) towards the aft of the ship. The model seems to show the Chinese Type 730, but the Aselsan GOKDENIZ may be an option as well. The CIWS will offer a measure of point-defence protection against low-flying threats, but the Yarmook-class will ultimately rely on the area-wide air defence coverage of the Type 054A/P and/or MILGEM.

According to Damen Shipyards Group, the Yarmook-class can carry two special mission containers. If it is similar to the OPV 2400, then ASW is an option. Specifically, Damen says that the OPV 2400 can carry a side-scan sonar through the container. It is unclear if this also includes torpedo launchers, but it is possible the response measure may come through an accompanying helicopter.

The PN is unlikely to dedicate the containers for ASW in peacetime; for the latter, it may keep the space open for humanitarian and disaster relief (HADR), search-and-rescue (SAR), and other missions.

IMO, PN will evaluate the weapon integration results on 1st two units prior to move on for acquiring the 2 additional options ....

I am aware of general weapon/sensor configuration but don't know the exact type.
Guns will likely be sourced from Turkey, including majority of sensors.

Thing to ponder is (I) the type of AShMs, (II) ASW capability, and (III) UAV (rotary wing)

Both ships are primarily meant to monitor commercial activities and counter asymmetric threats. If PN believes that it needs a pair of each vessel at Karachi and Gwadar, then probably additional order will be placed, otherwise not.

No it's not. PN Milgem displacement is 2800 tons.
All existing frigates in PN are in 3000+ tons displacement cetagory.
Zulfiqar is 3200+, Tariq is 3600+ and Alamgir is 4000+.
