I remember 90s for political turmoil and downward trends in development that led to coup in 1999. The coup did not take place out of thin air. It had its reasons and people on the street literally celebrated. Now you can call all of Pakistan as fool too!

I remember 90s too with rampant corruption and high inflation, the two reason I moved here as I could not keep up with my family expenses. Honestly, thats the story of most expatriate Pakistanis who are generally called traitors, but that's for another thread to discuss

More recent PML-N stint in Punjab is an example of too much centralization and incompetence that this type of control breeds. How can you forget the people getting killed by fake medicines? Creating a 27km bus ride is not a solution. The solution is neither laptops but creating chances for the average Pakistanis. To that end, both PML and PPP are big failures.

Pakistan CANNOT be standing on its own feet if we have parties like these. It will be even more miserable if one of these parties come to power. Imagine if Pakistan is more miserable than this. It will be for sure if it elects PPP or PML again.

Really ? Musharraf's coup happened because of Kargil. General Aziz and our Media opened the pandora box and exposed only 4 Generals knew what was going to happen. Not the Naval Chief, Not the Air Chief, and most of all, Not the Prime Minister. Who are you trying to fool here. Do you believe today's period is better than 90s ? Was there terrorism ? Most probably the reason why we have moved is because of employment. Today not only more people like us are moving, so are minorities such as Hindus. I do not blame PML-N. We needed the bomb to save our a$$es from India. As a result, we were imposed sanctions. Corruption is everywhere in this world. While Zardari did nothing, all of the policies today are continuation of Musharraf's. No one is blind. Imran Khan was holding hands with Mushy and company and later realized like Nawaz Sharif that he is a traitor. Our fellow Rusty here knows this and he won't reply back. Do you remember when IK ran to London to make alliance with PML-N ? This is politics and nothing is permanent. My point is very simple. No one is clean shaved. A party like PTI is made up of oldies, but those who were rejected or incompetant to serve the nation in the past. I'm just acknowledging good developments by PML-N in Punjab. You outline some basic things but it seems you just don't want to listen or accept to repeat the big things i mentioned in my previous post.

You are living in Canada and so am I. But its unfair to try to make comparison. This is a country of 33 million, centuries old. They took their time to establish education reforms etc. Yesterday Rusty argued that Korea brought literacy rate from 40 to 90% in in 30 years. I give credit where its due but a country like Pakistan cannot do that. Our population is 200 million and our nation is only 65 years old. It would take much much more than 30 years. You cannot have the same benefits like everywhere in the world. I have lived and studied in over 3 continents and in numerous countries and i can happily say PML-N have done a good job in Pakistan

Zardari & co have experience, more so than most, a whole 5 years of experience.
The only thing PML-N did well in the past and proposed this time too is some economic liberalisation policies.

Pakistan Muslim League is full of hardworking businessman with a lot of financial weight and more than 30-years of experience behind them. On the other hand, Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf survives on chanda collections, a party more suitable for building Madrassas.

Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf should disband and Imran Khan should quit politics while he can, otherwise if Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf does not win the upcoming General Elections, it'll have to declare financial bankruptcy and disband.
