Mayor says Sindh solid waste management system is under control of Sindh government

So..... It is back to what I said. Your federal and provincial governments didn't provide any system in the city

its the municipal officials who are responsible for solid waste management in the city.
If they dont have powers or are unfunded there is no point in people sitting in those offices. go up to them and drag them out.
Why hasnt the mayor resigned yet? thats the first goto person. before you climb up..

btw it doesn't take much for people of a street or area to offer community service and have a bin placed at regular distance..If you cant afford that then just dig a hole at various spots and direct people to throw garbage in it.later fill it with sand.
Why dont you take things in your hand..did you try something like that for your own locality?

bottom line it is a mess ..... finger pointing, no money, no plan, no ownership .... this is not how you run a metropolis like karachi. a very sad state and i will hold PPP responsible for it. as after 18th amendment, it is provincial governments responsibility. they owns the budget and they owns the delivery

what is he getting payed for? he should have been sacked by now but he chose to obey his master(sindh cm) and didnt resign even though there is no point of him being there...he is in collusion with whatever party snatched his powers..he is getting bribes from them.

I know where u voming from but doesnt mean army cannot be deployed. In case man power is requored. In Musharraf time army soldiers used to take meter readings for electricity usage, did anyone tell him its not job of army? Or he himswlf was doing a job that was not for army.

How hard is it implementing a "council tax" similar to the UK. The funds can be used to setup a private waste management company (not under the government). Even in Lahore i'd be willing to give a 1000 garbage collection fee to ensure waste is picked up at time (LWMC is getting delinquent lately). I pester them every week with a complaint on Citizens portal at which the person in charge usually comes down to tarla to please close the complaint.

none have succeeded because all of these save the one under Raheel sharif are politically motivated. These are not against criminals but rather against a political party or people of the Urdu speaking or Pushto speaking communities.

The real reason of all this unrest is
1) lack of good administrations
2) very few funds for Pakistan’s economic and population hub, where 70% of Pakistan’s tax is collected
3) lack of a de politicized professional city/ metropolitan police
4) the idea that facts on the ground can be changed by brute force I.e. a blunt instrument such as the Army.

of course u turn khan has never actually ruled and his dictatorial tendencies keep him from hiring people who can advise him well. This may cause him to fail completely
