ISLAMABAD, April 28 (APP): Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has announced the setting up of two medical colleges at Lora Lai and Khuzdar Districts of Balochistan. He gave this approval in a meeting with a delegation of Balochistan headed by Chief Minister Nawab Aslam Raisani here at the Aiwan‑e‑Sadr on Tuesday.
The Prime Minister also approved a sum of Rs. 70 million for the electrification of Bagh area in Balochistan.
The Prime Minister said that a special package for Quetta in consultation with the Balochistan government would be prepared and implemented for metropolitan city and adjoining localities to benefit the people of the area.
The package would focus on better education, health services, infrastructure development and provision of clean drinking water to the people.
The Prime Minister said that the strength of Lady Health Workers would also be doubled to improve the health‑care facilities for women.
The meeting was also attended by Federal Minister for Livestock Mir Humayun Aziz Kurd, Balochistan Minister for Health Ainullah Shamsi and Balochistan Minister for Inter‑Provincial Coordination Ms. Ruqiyya Hashmi.
