PLAN to deploy range of warships in Indian Ocean, says China's defence ministry

Apparently US ship wasnt going to attack india... and there was mother indias lover comrade sovietski n his nuclear sub to defend you .. remember?
Anyways its for the US to worry, not india. Indian navy's warships are deployed from straight of hormuz to straight of malacca and a few in south china sea to protect indian interests. India does not claim exclusive rights on Indian Ocean.

@DRAY It has begun. The first thing to do for an autocratic state when the economy is showing signs of trouble is to raise the bogey of the enemy. Sign of more economic problems for the Communist Chinese Government?

Yah yeah.

Is China planning to send Liaoning AC with its J-15 fleet into Indian Ocean?
I never have chance to see a demontrated show of operations on board of Liaoning

Wow! Amazing videos. Thanks

That's part of the effort going back to 2008 when China began to deploy fleets to Indian Ocean and further.

It is not directed at any specific nation. Big nations do not think small..

And it has not been decided overnight or last week. China's blue-ocean strategy goes back to the mid-1990s.

It is a long-hauled strategy extending well into the future.

If the China`s economy is in trouble, then the world economy is in hell

US presence in the Indian Ocean (Diego Garcia) could not stop India from entering east pakistan in 1971. What can chinese vessels do in Indian Ocean other than escorting commercial vessels to safety from piracy? If India wants to station an AC in Atlantic and another in Pacific, what wrong will she commit?
You do realize that US wanted to enter the war alongside Pakistan but didn't due to fear of being at a nuclear war with the Soviet Union. US weren't afraid of India but of a war with the Soviets.

For ur kind info, India and CHina too are nuke nations. The logic applies similarly in here.
Trust me, a nuclear war is the last thing that every country wants. Nuclear weapons show a sign of strength and superiority, it is the ultimate weapon, something all nations want.

Exactly. And everyone knws that anyone who owns it wud never use it. Its a sign of defence from getting annihilated and not a medium for annihilating someone..

Except for the US, who used nukes against Japan, TWICE. No nuclear armed country will nuke another nuclear armed country and you can be sure of that.

China employs the twin policies of nuclear ambiguity and no-first-use policy. China will not use nuclear weapons unless/until it has been threatened with one by any one of nuclear nations.

Diplomacy will have its tensions and hot points, but, nuclear is the very last resort. There are so many tools and means to manage a country's foreign policy; nuclear weapons is the most extreme and the least likely.

It does not make sense to speak of nuclear weapons upon a simple naval deployment.
