This means there are still over 350 fighters in Werstern India or Souther India

PLAAF has over 40 flankers & 300 J10 but 70% of these are needed in SCS against USN japan Taiwan.

AND THE TIBET air bases cant cater for bigger numbers

Any lack of infrastructure can be build by the Chinese quickly enough; Air bases and large hangers. Equally, the Chinese can move tanker aircraft to Xinjiang to negate the effects of fighter aircraft taking off from higher altitudes fully loaded in Tibet. It’s a matter of will not technical limitations which can not be overcome. (Many of the more than 100 H-6 bombers in the PLAAF Arsenal could be converted into tankers)

If China really wants to it can build many more air bases in the region, or expand the number of runways at the airbases already present.

Look for the highways along the border in Tibet, all of them are black topped expressway grade. Planes can land and take off from there. I think Indians are underestimating this fact.

They keep talking about the altitude and distance of the PLAAF bases but they forget about Skardu. DBL is 60 miles, Leh is 130 miles and Ghoise is 65 miles from Skardu and it is not a high altitude field compared to Leh and others in Ladakh. Further Pathankot and Jammu bases are within artillery/MLRS range from Pakistan border. Srinagar air base can be taken out through multiple options.

If a full scale war breaks out in Ladakh all bets are off this time. The Srinagar Ladakh Highway will be closed and along with the Chicken Neck from the Shakargarh bulge and Skardu will be fully operational both by PAF and PLAAF. Do your bean counting then.

I have done this statitics last year
In the west first line，Indian has 36 3rd generation + 90 2nd generation fighter + 36 light attacker; Pakistan has 72 3rd generation + 108 2nd gneraiton fighter; China has 64 3rd generation + 32 2nd generation fighter + 32 attacker
In the west second line, Indian has 90 3rd generation fighter + 18 light attacker; Pakistan has 18 3rd generation + 18 2nd gneraiton fighter; China has 32 3rd generation + 32 2nd generation fighter + 32 attacker
In the south, Indian has 72 3rd generation + 18 2nd generation fighter + 36 light attacker; Pakistan has 72 3rd generation + 54 2nd gneraiton fighter
In the north，Indian has 72 3rd generation fighter ; China has 96 3rd generation + 86 2nd generation fighter
This calculation includes all of Indian Air force and Pakistan Air force, but only 1/5 of Chinese air force. Even in this condition, Indian is inferior to Pakistan + China in every direction

true.. but most likely PLAAF will use mid air tankers.

IAF doesnt have the confidence to launch an attack on PAF air bases ... let alone a Chinese one..besides it the actual availabilty that counts for the most.

on 27 Feb when PAF struck with a Strike package of 24 planes ( AWACS, AE&W, Escorts, Strike and fighter sweep) the IAF despite expecting an attack chould only muster no more than 8 planes in the theatre....

So if a hot zone this is their performance if i were PLAAF commander i would not be too worried about IAF. Their theoretically higher number of planes is just a number.

correct, pilot availability , maintenance etc all of these areas IAF is traditionally weak in. in 1971 PAF an average pilot use to do about 4 to 4.5 sorties a day IAF about half that much...
