TYpe 055 will certainly have more VLS cells and carry more missiles than 052D, but not as many as 128X8...

Type 055, at least the 1st batch of the class, will focus on air-defence at the expense of land attack ablilites, for which China has opted for submarine-launched conventional and nuclear-tipped cruise missiles.

To clarify, the number of up to 8 missiles per VLS will be the much smaller and shorter range medium range missiles like a version of the navalised SD-10.

The single missile that will fit into each of the VLS cells will be the largest and longest-ranged, maybe the rumoured HQ-26 SAM.

All this is speculation but we can see the ship could potentially carry up to 1000 missiles or more if required.

China will not be giving this ship to Pakistan , let alone BD. Anyway BD could not possibly afford 2 billion dollars for a single ship.

It represents their highest level of technology and will not be sold to anyone.

The Type-052C destroyer may become available towards the latter part of the decade

96 VLS cells are far more likely.

Type 052D destroyer is 155 meters long, 18 meters wide, that's bigger than Ticonderoga cruiser. Type 055 destroyer is expected to be about 170 meters long, 24 meters wide.

So now there are 3 Type 052D on sea trial. That's as many Zumwalt as there will ever be. When the next US financial crisis hits next year, expect Zumwalt number to be cut from 3 to 1.

got that after searching some elements in net.PLAN refers to their phased-array radar air-defense destroyers as Aegis destroyers.do Type-52D enables data sharing with other ships like Aegis do??

When the Type-55 comes out, then PLA will have Type-55, Type-052D and Type-052C.

They may not feel their national security will be compromised by offering their Type-052C to countries such as Pakistan.

Thailand has already been offered the Type-054A frigate and that is the best frigate that China has even now.

BD certainly will not be able to buy Type-052C if it was offered this decade. A frigate with 24-32 VLS cells containing medium range missiles will be more suitable.

I think that both Pakistan and BD will go for frigates rather than destroyers as they are more suitable for both navies anyway.

Type 052D uses a Link 16 equivalent. Type 052D is far more advanced than early Arleigh Burke Flight. In particular, Type 052D's sonar, which is kept secret, is far more advanced than early Arleigh Burke's sonar.

Thailand has had a good relationship with China for probably 1,000 years already.

The current Thai Princess is half-Chinese. All Thai post ww2 Prime Ministers have been ethnic Chinese.

That's why IMO China has no issue with offering 054A to Thailand.

It is not like the bigger the better, 052D carrys HQ9B SAM with range more than 150 plus, and YJ62 anti-ship missile with more than 300 KM. That's called strong fire power in the making. PLA navy need at least 30 plus ships like 052d to escort the CBG and replace the old destroyers.

PLA navy will be the strongest navy in west pacific region at year 2025. With 6 plus CBGs and dozens of agies system shipborn destroyers we can wipe out any enemy standing in our way. Hope your cute economy could withstand the confrontation.
