Pilot, air traffic controller held responsible for PK-8303 crash

This was clearly the pilot error (or lack of his training) of how to ditch the plane if it lands without landing gears.

If you would blame on training procedures, than clearly the aviation authority and its rules need to be reformed who gives licence to flying schools and to pilots to fly the aircraft.
He supposed to be flying around 2500 feet before landing but he was flying 7200 feet....ignore the instruction and dive to land.... what a smart arse pilot ...

CVR also revealed that no checklists were done, which is a standard operating procedure.
Instead the pilots were busy gossiping about Corona virus.

This is third crash recorded due to pilot and maintenance crew negligence. 1. Blue AIR, ATR and now this one.

No guilty all free.....
Issues. Due to lack of funding no proper plane maintenance, cannibalization a common practice.
Who forced to fly these unfit machines ????? .............. who get the blame.
Why not shutdown the airline , rather putting public life in danger on daily basis.... how long we bother Allah.... let's fly, allah khayaar kara gaa..........

Bhai 7200 meters is 24000 ft. if this is true then 5000 feet per min rate of descend would still not make the aircraft touch the runway. It doesn't make sence

The CVR recording should be made public. What warnings the pilot got for trying to land without landing gear?
There's no other logical reason that that it was a technical fault.

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot. WTF. There is only ONE thing to blame in this event and that is the culture in the cockpit in PIA and those pilots (mostly Captains) who have kept this culture going. The real solution is to fire everyone in management positions in PIA flight operations and replace them with a younger generation with a more professional CRM orientated attitude. This will obviously also require bringing in foreigners to help as the culture is so ingrained that Pakistanis alone will not be able to do the job.

The questions to defending pilot community are, Why didn't he do the standard callouts earlier? Why did he disregard ATC's request to do an orbit? Why did he retract the LG on final? Why did he disregard the warning horn? Why did he briefly lowered the landing gear selector before raising it again while the engines were scraping the rwy? Simply mind-boggling.

But let's just blame the ATC despite there was no objective reason to revoke the landing clearance. Amazing.

What is the usual certification process in Pakistan and how often is their currency and proficiency reviewed?

I think he misquoted it as meters. It was in feet.

Feet not meters.
