Well it has to do with , nationalization , alot of the countries you mentioned have policies in place to protect local corporations vs out of country corporations
In Pakistan Japan gives us 300-400 million dollar aid , in return we purchase Used Japanese cars which eat oil and transfer billions into Japanese Economy and of course we also get Japanese electronics because , we have not allowed local companies in Pakistan to develop in field of electronics
Same is true with Car and auto mobile industry, around 70's Pakistan used to have world known global banks and with foreign interference , these banks were shut down in international markets via corruption allegations, mean while Pakistan allows banks from outside to come and charge pakistani for services.
Same is the story with Telecoms industry - via privatization huge chuncks are owned by foreign countries politicians simply took their CUT and sold off private assets , millions go out of Pakistan due to these policies , how many of these companies invest back in PAKISTAN ???
Not alot do they support cancer research in Pakistan ? No
Do they help fund orphans and widow foundations ? No
Most of the service sector in Pakistan is sold off and railway as we know is reeling badly ....
PIA was hurt first by the UK air route ban and now US route ban which was quite lucrative for Pakistan.
So Pakistani Corporations are being hit left and right ... the people are working ....the people in corporations are hard working business man and women but the problem is the Gov in charge in Pakistan are made up of
Uneducated , mafia gangsters ...Wad-era types ..... who don't understand policy making and protecting national interest...
This is why our corporations are failing -------- their rights are not being protected every 10 years Military comes to power rules change and their rights are lost ...
Think about if if Pakistan COUNTRY OF 180 million people drinks a Pakistani Soft drink and gives up Pepsi and Cocacola how many dollars will stay in Pakistani economy ?? example.....
Or how many of you if you bought only cars in Pakistan will we not be next Germany in Automotive ??? our companies die out because , policies do not protect local corporations ....
Try doing business from Pakistan to Europe see how many hurdles you have to by pass their laws??? While our government says ... no guys come buy farm land and take all the vegetables and foot products free of charge
This is our Problem :
A) We have person Pakistani opens a company takes loan and starts a business lets say he developed cellphones
made in Pakistan. He sells it for 100 bucks
B) Foreign companies - send in Million units to Pakistan and sell it for 2 bucks - Our Pakistani consumer buys
the 2 dollar ones pakistani guy goes out of business.
After 6 months ... the foreign company raises fees and starts charging 30 bucks per month the local competition is gone......they spend 1% back in Pakistan hiring cheap labour , and 99% of money goes back out of pakistan.
Whats happening with PIA is same thing .....
Their competitors ran low low rates , once PIA lost routes , they hiked their rates back up
Anyone who says Pakistani Business Men don't know how to run things is incorrect because I have seen many CEO and highly efficient people working in top levels who run world economies from Pakistan .....but they are working now in Global corporations ... not national corporations because they work under European rules or American protectionism ....
Our Economy only suffers because we can't seem to stop creating babies and we love foreign
