What's new

Petrol at 127.30 - highest ever

This is something pakistani's won't understand. Stop comparing yourself with superpowers and your neighbours, our per capita income and wages are to low to compensate for ever increasing inflation.

Pakistanis also need to understand that their government simply does not have the financial resources to provide subsidies in the amounts needed to protect the people from international price fluctuations.

Bring in the appropriate reforms then. Who's stopping PTI? This is the only party which had 100% support from the military, but still they're failing miserably.
There's not even a single positive economic indicator and we're back to square one. What is it that PTI has done differently? Literally nothing...

What reforms over three years can reverse over three decades of economic mismanagement enough to generate enough funds for such subsidies? Yeh ju-e-sheer kaunsa farishta laye ga?

People should brace for more such news.

Even in UAE, that is one of the largest producers of fuel, the prices are going up. A country can keep the prices low to a certain extent, after that, it must have to transfer some of the impact to the public..
Crude will touch 80$ by 2022

Pakistani petrol/diesel prices are very very low compared to the region and the world

Pakistan should appropriately increase taxes to ensure appropriate revenue as per international standards

It's ridiculous the idiocy our population gets upto and what they expect from nothing

So they should offer subsidies for an imported product? We already cant pay for our electricity subsidies

This is never understood when you have such a free media
Standard PTI generic response. PTI failed to bring any reforms lol, what a shitshow it is.
So the reform should be to hold Putin at gun point and demand that he increase production so price falls?

Broadening tax base, increasing exports, substituting imported products by encouraging production in Pakistan and this has resulted in many encouraging signs such as smart phone production in Pakistan and revival of textile industry

LOL. Ask anyone here if I am considered a PTI supporter. :D

I merely state facts. I have always said, to much derision, that naya Pakistan will prove to be just like purana Pakistan, jo marzi kar lo.

People are losing jobs even in gulf..

Where the inflation is controlled, salaries are being reduced by 10-25%. Businesses are shutting down.

The situation specially in gulf will impact Pakistan more in the future. We didn't invest in industries in the last few decades, Pakistan is in a worst position. If countries like those having immense natural resources and large industrial base are suffering, imagine the situation of a country like Pakistan where the industry is dead for decades.

I really hope that people understand what's coming.. Next 2-3 years will be a killer for countries like Pakistan.
