Of the two countries, India is more impressive. you don't see people hanging on the side or sitting on the top of the train(sitting on the top is definitely not a good idea, not not hanging on the side is impressive. From the train station, I'm impress that India has a female section of the train and the women above are clearly in the female section. There is a reason why that is necessary and its great that India is requiring a female section for the trains.

Most western countries outside of US has government run health care. And they are inefficient. So they would go to India for minor surgeries that would cost much less. And this happen to the state of Tamil, not all of India. South India is much more develop and advanced than north India. No foreign medical tourist would go to north India.

Actually, you are not allowed to pre-screen the students. What you can do is to say which region can be tested. The students are chosen randomly. In Germany all federal states are obliged to participate.

This isn't just "Indian students did worse than Chinese students", it is "students from provinces chosen by the Indian government as representative of their country did worse than 71 out of the 73 countries participating." Well, since you have only met Chinese in cheap restaurants, then several conclusion can drawn about you:

1. You have never attended a reputable university, since Chinese students and professors are common sight in high quality educational institutes.
2. You have never worked in a engineering company, since Chinese engineers are common place in lots of countries.
3. You have never been in/watched an international intellectual/culture contest, since Chinese excel at these and are frequent participants.
4. You have never performed labor with high technical skill requirement, since there are a lot of Chines engineers and technicians all around the world.

Given these conclusions, I am really concerned about your future, considering the fact you have never seen the inside of a good education establishment nor a good company.

What is wrong with people here?? If we are at the bottom the list in PISA or whatever it is, let us prod our govt. to do better next time. Getting out of the program is just cop out in my opinion. China may have done better than most countries because they are focused in bringing up their standards overall. We should not resort to birating Chinese for their achievements.

No one is questioning our own incompetence in these exams. What is our congress govt. doing in past two term??
