The ONLY thing i am troubled with (and you can check my posts throughout the whole saga and ask anyone here who i argued with and was fighting everyone who tend to lose hope) is our PUBLIC. Will the verdict and actions be translated into words that public will get a grip of and then will they UNDERSTAND what it is and then will the ACT based on it!!
It is all in the hands of the public now. It is where it SHOULD be but will be be able to handle it?
Was it in the hands of public when Nawaz was brought in to be part of government by Gen Chishti and Zia?
Was it in the hands of public when Nawaz was helped and elections were rigged to have him elected in the first place?
Was it in the hands of public when PMLN was selected to win majority seats in the first place?
So It shouldn't be in the hands of public either when it has come the time to have his initial, artificially crafted legacy removed.
Establishment should make sure that both PMLN and PPP not get more than 100 seats combined in the National Assembly.
That's the immediate short term fix.
Then it will be time to reform our education system.
One uniform syllabus for govt. and private schools.
Compulsory for govt employees as well as all levels of elected members /public office holders to admit children in Govt. Schools/ colleges/ Universities.
Subsequently, and in due time, a smarter, relatively smaller, more efficient and best equipped Army to smartly save some of our spending on defence and divert that towards grass roots level education in rural areas.
It has been quoted in Quran on various occasion "Majority of the people are illiterate"
Bottomline, it is not possible to educate the masses to bring the change, we need a charismatic leader whom people should follow blindly like ZAB ... IK, unfortunately, is not able to grab the attention of illiterate class upto the desired level ...
For such a situation you give people a leader and people will follow him ... there is no other way ... You cannot convince public to think rationally in a society like Pakistan ... We are emotional fools for us Bhutto zinda ha or sher sher ha ... or humien manzil nahi rehnuma chahy (for Altaf)
Realistically speaking we need a leader who can win the heart of the people and then following him we move to a direction of education and realization may be after that, our next generation will be able to think rationally ...
Land reforms cannot be done in democracy as 90% of the parliamentarians are landlords themselves
Since this illiteracy syndrome is not a quick fix, our army needs to undo the wrong done to this country by installing Nawaz & co at the helm of affairs. Remember, that Nawaz was not even able to win general counsellor election before being hand picked by Gen.Chisti and Gen.Zia, nurtured and help get elected through systematic rigging against PPP in Punjab before Subsequently becoming a political force on his own.
Anti bhutto policies created a monster like Nawaz that eventually got out of hand and threatened the very cohesion of our country. It's time to undo all that and let alternate leadership emerge.
The upcoming election should not be left to chance but has to be smartly, tactfully and subtly managed by Army to make sure that its own once upon a time created monster is properly laid to rest.
Then it shall be a time to rigorously work on our education reforms, touched briefly above, to make basic education available free of cost to the masses.
