Panama Case - Post Verdict Discussion and Updates

They knew they were done long time ago; when they were told “we are with law” - shared here tons of times too - after that all they were doing was hoping against the hope aka some magic and firing on political front hoping that they’ll be able to sell the unique narrative for next elections - but even that can’t work!

Even if they are able to save the dissolution till March 2018 - there will be unique bahaney of MNA/MPA’s like school 5 year old kids used to make for not doing homework.....there was no light yesterday, therefore couldn’t book flight for Islamabad :)
The ONLY thing i am troubled with (and you can check my posts throughout the whole saga and ask anyone here who i argued with and was fighting everyone who tend to lose hope) is our PUBLIC. Will the verdict and actions be translated into words that public will get a grip of and then will they UNDERSTAND what it is and then will the ACT based on it!!

It is all in the hands of the public now. It is where it SHOULD be but will be be able to handle it?

Simple answer: No.. until 100% literacy rate is achieved.. and literacy rate is calculated based on having at least matriculation certificate..

We are notable to handle it ... Here is the game ... Our public is intentionally made a slave by mind so that they cant see the bigger picture ... They are happy being looted off from tax money and are happy in gettong few roads in return from our damn money ... Unfortunately our public is still see this as a scam against NS ...

In Sindh matriculation and inter calcukation are on sale if you have even small amount of money you can get the qualification ... We are stuck in a vicious cycle ...

Agreed!
So lets build a conversation on this.

You say that the verdict wont be translated into public opinion and people will still be fooled by these scums. I and YOU both agree that this HAVE to end now and that we are already a bit late in changing this. It is perhaps the last of our chances and we need to bring that change now to survive tomorrow.

So what should be OUR role? What we can do practically to improve the situation and to make sure that people develop an understanding of what NS and Co. was all about and how this needs to be changed? Please, let us stick to things that are practically possible (tired of the not possible inqalabi schemes!) Lets take it one step at a time and may be we will achieve something here.

It has been quoted in Quran on various occasion "Majority of the people are illiterate"

Bottomline, it is not possible to educate the masses to bring the change, we need a charismatic leader whom people should follow blindly like ZAB ... IK, unfortunately, is not able to grab the attention of illiterate class upto the desired level ...

For such a situation you give people a leader and people will follow him ... there is no other way ... You cannot convince public to think rationally in a society like Pakistan ... We are emotional fools for us Bhutto zinda ha or sher sher ha ... or humien manzil nahi rehnuma chahy (for Altaf)

Realistically speaking we need a leader who can win the heart of the people and then following him we move to a direction of education and realization may be after that, our next generation will be able to think rationally ...

Land reforms cannot be done in democracy as 90% of the parliamentarians are landlords themselves

In my view, there is an overall support (albeit silent) for this process. There are two signs of it:
  1. The lawyers community is usually the first to raise its voice if there were any serious concenrs (particularly that Army is manipulating behind the scenes). PMLn has a very large lawyer's force and they have not said a word against the whole process.
  2. The public is taking a huge interest and is supporting this. In fact, they are happy to see the end of Shareefs.
What I am concerend is that they (public) will once again vote for PMLn and Zardari.

Bold above - Who do you think will translate the verdict to make public understand?

It’s not the job of SCP, it’s the job of political parties, and the media. Except for PTI; no other political party will do it due to vested interests including Jamaat e Islami types which has more nuisance value than actual.

Media world wide is driven by key institutions of the country and of course their business interests - that is why I NEVER believe media blindly - as all of them are paid to further one agenda or other at different times!

Speedy Justice and Accountability, with education, economy and land reforms - hand in hand; or no sustained positive change is possible.

Karachi has one of the highest literacy rates in the country and has no feudal land holding issues - do we get the types of representatives that we really want from Karachi? The solution requires multipronged approach - which is not possible in current system of defaced democracy. A statesman with absolute power can bring faster paced change otherwise we are in recurcive state with several troubled areas of concern.

The issues are intertwined and it (corrective path) starts with ruthless justice and accountability, as by design not default the severity of the fractured socioeconomic fabric we currently have, we have to have major overhauls in areas listed above - concurrently!

There are no other leaders other than the current lot and IK may not be the ablest of them all but he is not corrupt, and that is going to be his ace in the hole. having said that, our awam is a fickle lot, expect anything from them.

What would happen IF a majority of the public sees the trial and its verdict as a manufactured farce?
