Israel Navy forces fired overnight Tuesday on two alleged smuggling boats off the Gaza coast, the army announced Wednesday.

According to the IDF, the suspected vessels were heading out from the Strip to Egypt when the Navy intercepted them as part of ongoing IDF operational activities to prevent smuggling into the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip.

Palestinian reports cited four wounded from the Israeli fire.

As the Navy was escorting the boats in question back to the Gaza shore, gunmen on the coast opened fire on the Israeli forces.

No injuries were reported on the Israeli side.

Absolutely, they are smuggling explosives into Gaza to help the Palestinians defend themselves, its a thing of survival. We are expecting any Israeli offensive soon, Egypt knows this and is fine with it. Only nobody civilians and soldiers like you think they want to stop it. Egyptian generals let this occur and they get cash sometimes, but, also Egypt realizes Gaza needs what it can get to defend itself. Only Israelis are concerned about this, Egyptians shouldn't be.

You're saying in your title that a boat from Gaza tried smuggling something into Egypt. Now you're saying it was something being smuggled into Gaza from Egypt. Fix your title.
