It would take a couple of anti ship missiles to render a ship out of service and couple of more to sink it. Our submarines and JF-17s with dedicated anti shipping role should do the job while we are waiting to get better surface vessels and newer subs.

@Rashid Mahmood

So any Tuvalu can take USN CBGs with few fighter and subs with anti ship missiles.BS.
If an attack was that much easy why should nations invest on Naval forces .
We are expecting more quality in your post TTA.

Here comes another delusional Indian with a modi aka the murderer set of mind and think for IN everything will be a piece of cake, well I can guarantee forget about the whole cake try even getting a slice of it, you will find out how sour it's gonna be. PN have only needs to defend a smaller coastline with soon to be enough assets to protect, no wonder the PN is changing her doctrine from defensive both offensive and defensive, for the first time PN is keeping all her procurements under ample secrecy, enough said, now kid don't bother coming back if you have anything concrete to come up with, and to the fellow Pakistanis eid Mubarak to you all.

Kid keep quite when you know nothing.... What you've currently to protect your Coast lines tell me... Di you even see the size of your Navy??? It doesn't matter if you've enough ships to safeguard the coastal line (Which is not true) Our Naval patrol boats are called as frigates in PN... do you've any idea about the front line ships of IN?? 2 each of Shivalik,Kolkata and talwar or komorta are enough to set hovac on PN.. not to mention the future 150-200 Naval Air Arm... there's no Defensive Offensive Doctrine in PN.. only defensive that to for a short period.... Only potent weapon in PN is the old AIP subs.. with our newer Scorpene from down and P-8 from Up and Komorta on the sea are more than enough to minimize that threat level to all the way down

PS Happy Eid

Man im more worried about the 200 Rafales india has got (that never arrived). 200 warships, count your chickens much. Are all indians like this or is it just the kids that come on this site.

Its all about of goals. India want its old stature back as Golden bird and pakistan only want to contain India and this is why we have already passed the pakistani threat from the Indian ocean but still we want to boost our navy.On the other hand its a real fact that our 70 % business run through the sea route and our land masses is surrounded by the sea.
So it will be not wise if Pakistani gov think to match with us in Indian ocean.

Indian Navy is like Miles Miles miles better than us and the difference is soo big than no matter how much we invest now, it can't compensate .

Better improve our Airforce further and make good Air to Surface missiles to deal with them, we can't compete with their Navy .

You can't tackle with airforce also, as world's most leading firms eying Indian market and JV's with multinational indian companies

Bharat calling: Foreign firms queue up for JVs under 'Make in India' initiative

India should have enough firepower to protect its rather long coast line as well as its shipping lanes. I wish precious and limited resources were utilized elsewhere like in education and farming but given India's neighborhood, India has little choice but to have a strong Navy. Also, history comes with its own baggage - the lack of a naval force enabled the European powers to colonize India.

Kid are you aware IN already has 137 ships in its inventory and 48 are already under construction??? While more boats are in the planned stage

Omg, we are never shot of idiots from our eastern neighbour in this forum, with all your so called goodies when you have balls then come n talk to us otherwise stfu.

Bhai merey, in modern naval warfare, surface combatants have become almost irrelevant for they are easy target for ever advancing anti ship missiles capable of being launched both from the air and under the sea. I am not saying that their fleet is no threat but we do have punch to defend our seas. Even shore-line based ASM batteries are a huge threat to any surface vessels lurking within the range with not-so-good intentions.

Unlike losing few dozen infantrymen on this front and some tanks on another, losing even a single warship or a sub has huge psychological impact let alone an aircraft carrier. During 1965, we had only one sub, which effectively managed to prevent IN's carrier to enter into the theatre. Lets not downplay the potency of our Navy. My knowledge pertaining to these matters is of a layman; lets hear from Rashid saheb.

@Rashid Mahmood

Lolz, really?

You're a Good Cop but unfortunately Your Gov is not like you :(

Indian Govt can not go beyond the wishes of its peoplle, some war mongers comments in passion here can not be taken as view of majority of Indians. Navy buildup is for smooth passage of maritime trade which constitutes 70% of of all of our trade

@Rashid Mahmood

Lets say dedicated JF-17? You know how many JF-17 you required to overwhelm the Indian defences of

A)Frigate
B)Destroyer
C)As a whole CBG

Ever you thought about this?
