What's new

Pakistani SEALs the new fighting force to counter Terrorism.

Also, thanks to our ill informed press.. the US Navy S.E.A.Ls are also exactly like the SSG in terms of their organization. With various teams specializing in particular tasks. Seal Team 2 for eg is specialized in working within cold environments.. while seal team's 3 and 6 are specialists in counter terrorism operations.

For the SSG, Musa company are specialists in amphibious operations along the Punjab canals and wetlands.. and the dedicated counter terrorism force of which the article is referring to is called Zarrar company and it's primary task is counter terrorism.

What they need is to fix our Elite force and turn it into something like SWAT is for American police.

You are right at every single point sir, but i believe that this has been misreported miserably by the media, the counter terrorism force will be based along and work along the lines of HRT -FBI. The force will be under Civil control and at federal level unlike Elite force which is at provincial and district level

. . . .
The thing that needs to be done is not to create another force but to:

1.First have the political will to recognize that terrorism is the most pressing issue and this threat must be crushed
2.The moral courage for the whole nation to stand behind its armed forces

who I am sure are more than capable of handling these terrorists provided the nation is united and stands behind them.

. .
Ohh...Fan boy is here...Please pray tell how many terrorists they have killed???

I would suggest that you show some respect to fellow members as you never know who the next person is, for all you know he might be more expereinced than an emotional fool like you.

. . .
This news article has given me more confusion.

SSG, Police mentioned in the same place?

Is it going to be under Army or under MoI? I don't think SSG will come under MoI.

Isl Police had some folks trained by GIGN, the time when Rehman malik posed for the photoshoot with the special team. I guess they were for VIP!

.
Oh sir ge, this article is stupid and baseless, with no ground knowledge, they are placing civil institutions with Military force, they should have compared the force to CO19 UK, GIGN, NSG india and HRT fbi.

Ssg, seals, delta are not meant for the purpose.
operations in hot zones will always be carried out military and not this new so called Pakistani Seals

Exactly....... specially the sniper units...

Exactly....... specially the sniper units...

We are talking about a speacialized force here, more like a CT Command and not unit bro, they will have dedicated intelligence department, and resources of its own, with federal powers.
Elite force can act like TST(Tactical Support Team)

.
So SSG SSGN SSW are not capable to deal with Terrorist right? So do not tel them elite forces from now onward.

What is the guarantee that the seal would be able to deal with terrorists and won't fail like other so called Elite Forces?

Who said we failed to counter terrorists with SSG? Whenever they got deployed they completed their mission, apart from few cases where those brave men were actually meant to die at the hands of terrorists, one case would be of tirah valley.
Apart from that SSG did the biggest helo borne operation in Peochar valley.
Correct your facts dear their is difference between ssg and regualr infantry
