thats what I have been saying since 2008, we need elite force to counter guerrilla cum terrorists :pakistan:

.
Also, thanks to our ill informed press.. the US Navy S.E.A.Ls are also exactly like the SSG in terms of their organization. With various teams specializing in particular tasks. Seal Team 2 for eg is specialized in working within cold environments.. while seal team's 3 and 6 are specialists in counter terrorism operations.

For the SSG, Musa company are specialists in amphibious operations along the Punjab canals and wetlands.. and the dedicated counter terrorism force of which the article is referring to is called Zarrar company and it's primary task is counter terrorism.

What they need is to fix our Elite force and turn it into something like SWAT is for American police.

. .
10000 in size isnt it too much

we already have SSG SSGN SSW we need something like swat teams in every city it will be better to train and equip elite teams of police with better equipment

.
What doesn't Pakistan just hire militants to fight off the certain groups which cause havoc to their cities civilians? It can be effective if they have any experience.

.
Yup i was thinking the same-
We already have seal like commando force- which has failed miserably-

We need SWAT- and accountability-

On the contrary.. what has failed has been their deployment strategy.
For eg.. in the Kamra base operation the regular troops were engaging the terrorists but once the Zarrar company landed with their specific training(along with POF eye) they mopped up the remainder within tens of minutes.
So the force is there and is effective, but its deployment strategy is flawed.

Zarrar company should be based in teams throughout the country with dedicated transport so that they are able to respond quickly. Rather than being told about it through brigade command and then down further and then getting equipment ready , and then briefing.. and so on.

Response time is what needs to be worked on and not fighting techniques as those already exist. Even the D.I Khan fiasco had a lot to do with response times and intelligence sharing.

WE dont have anything to counter terrorism specialists, the guerrilla specific commandos. I guesss?

ye jo JADEED Technology wala hamara Aslaha hey jo 30 saal porana ub mazeed JADEED technology li ja rahe hey ????

by the way ... "Paisay jaeeb wich hay nahe aur chalay nay SWAT forces banaaan" :omghaha:

A force with quick response time should do the job-

The problem is the terrorists come prepared- motivated- ready to die to get virgins-
Our forces are always caught sleeping by the time they become aware are get into their senses the talibunnies are at their throughts- flee or die in vain is the only option left for them-
Few prefer Shahadat- most flee-

This news article has given me more confusion.

SSG, Police mentioned in the same place?

Is it going to be under Army or under MoI? I don't think SSG will come under MoI.

Isl Police had some folks trained by GIGN, the time when Rehman malik posed for the photoshoot with the special team. I guess they were for VIP!

Smaller Zarrar teams are placed across the country, at least in major places. Rawalpindi, Lahore, Sargodha etc do have some operators present. kamra has Tarbela nearby, and besides SSW would have some presence in Kamra as well.

This seems to be under civil control. seems to be. Hope they don't start protecting VIPs.

If its based on a SWAT team idea where it becomes a rapid action force. Its a good idea. something is better than nothing.

Sir Islamabad Police have been trained by the following International trainers:

French - Various Investigative and close protection courses

German - Anti Terrorism Capacity Development

Austrian - Investigative

American - ICITAP: Investigative and ATAP: Investigative and Crisis Response.

British - The British were training mainly FC but also Isb, the program was stopped in 2011 when Pakistan kicked them out following abbotobad.

Dutch - ATS

The Americans still continue to train the Pakistani police forces under the US state dept's Anti Terrorism Assistance Program & ICITAP:

Antiterrorism Assistance Program
USDOJ: CRM: International Criminal Investigative Training Assistance Program (ICITAP)

The British will be setting up a new training program in 2014 to train counter terrorism units in Pakistan. Lets see how that goes?

We already have Elite Force which is present in almost every city. Bring all Elite Force personnel back to duty instead of protecting Riwind Palace and Sharif family's arses. And make them autonomous and apply strict accountability. That is the first thing which is needed to be done. Otherwise these Seals and Special Squads with Jadeeeeeeed Technology will end up protecting Sharif Family at their Riwind Empire..
