im just throwing ou ideas here. as you said before, turbines are lighter and much thirsty. but in terms or reliability turbines are quiet relaible the lm2500 is based of the cf6 engine, and thats bullet proof and the most successfull marine turbine engine today. i believe the milgem has the lm2500 too i think. the mt30 which is used as alternators on the zumwalt/type 45 and elizabeth-ac.Type45 still does have gas turbines and diesel additional to alternators sure . I think the worst of gas turbines are high maintenance cost , also the complexity. I have faced several time that a diesel engine failure is fixed in an our with some technician while gas turbine needed a special repair team to repair.
There is no plan about propulsion as drawing but i hope for codlag system, eventhough i know the fact they would go for cogag. Just because some old minded people looks with hesitate
anyway whatever turkey chooses i think it would be in their best interest.
