In the West, we have emancipated minors. Normally they separate from their family, work and live on their own, have children, or marry at a young age and are considered adults. They have the same rights as adults.

There need to be exceptions to this case for extraneous circumstances.

Orphans who wish to become independent, children who escape abusive homes and wish to marry, children who wish to change their religion and fear their family (as in recent case of two Hindu origin girls,) and respect for tribal law.

The Pakistani society, like the Chinese society, is centered on the family member/family tree, not the individual. This is social tradition, and there are good places and bad places.
It cannot be applied to the Eastern society with the individualism of Western society. Otherwise, it will cause confusion and social instability.
Do you really think that prosperous Singapore is a Western society? I tell you that Singapore is a Confucian society with good law system who is dominated by Chinese as the main body, family-centered, and one-party long-term ruling(Lee Kuan Yew, Lee Hsien Loong) .

Absolutely agree , we shouldn't try to impose western values on our indigenous cultures , our cultures are rich enough to prosper , even in India this trend of welcoming western values and degrading one's own culture which is 1000s of years older than the west is increasing

Law enforcement should be handled well. Other wise it is just a law on paper. In most states of US, it should be 18 for both, and we envy American higher life standard , ain't we?

As I said earlier no one can challenge Islamic laws in Pakistan. Only way is to educate people that early marriages are wrong. Most urban citizens get married at over 21 years age but rural areas lags behind. Making laws will not change anything since these laws cannot be enforced in Pakistan unlike in China and other countries.

I feel that there is only one way to ensure the implementation of the law in Pakistan: that is, let the army act as a law enforcer. Anyone who violates the law, the army will go to arrest the criminal and help to sentence him in the court of law.

No need to apologise we have to accept criticism that our society is broken and only works with age old laws of might is right, this kind of unjust society can only lead to poverty, civil strife and stagnant economy. In a nutshell all problems in Pakistani society can be blamed on two main culprits:

1. Corrupt religious clergy with too much say in politics
2. Corruption- This includes feudal system to corrupt bureaucracy, politicians, industrialists and Generals taking advantage of Pakistani people.

They are both linked with each other, when it comes to saving themselves all of these people usually side with each other in secret while giving opposing view points on media to mislead the public.
