Pakistani flags in three places in Assam..wake up India

Udalguri, Assam, October 4: The toll in continuing clashes between Bodos and illegal Bangladeshi migrants in Udalguri district rose to 10 on Saturday as eight burnt bodies were found while two persons were shot dead by the police when they were trying to torch houses in the district.
District Deputy Commissioner George Basumatary was transferred and Superintendent of Police Anup Kumar Singh suspended for allegedly failing to control the situation, official sources said.

The eight burnt bodies were found from Bodo villages of Sonaripara and Jhargaon villages, under Udalguri police station, which were attacked by illegal migrants with bows and arrows in the wee hours.

Besides setting ablaze houses in the two villages, several other dwellings in a neighbouring hamlet were also torched, the sources said.

The police shot dead two persons when they were trying to set fire to Bodo houses at Bhakatpara where a shoot-at-sight order is in vogue, they said adding about 50 persons were injured in the clashes so far.

Two bodies were found on Friday from a village under Rowta police station even as arson and looting in neighbouring Darrang district forced the administration to impose curfew in Dalgaon and Dhola on Friday and in Udalguri on Saturday.

Over 25 serious burn injury victims were shifted to the Gauhati Medical College Hospital while others were admitted to local hospitals.

Meanwhile, media persons saw a Pakistani flag in Sonaripara and Mohanpur villages and took photographs of them. Local television channels also ran footage of the flags. Officials and security forces denied any knowledge of the presence of the flags.

Did the ISI open a stall with information packets titled "How to run an insurgency in India" as well?

No the UN is still accountable for pussyfooting around this issue.

It's not the UN's credibility, its India's OWN SIGNATURE on the paper stating that it will allow a plebiscite is the issue here.

Times have changed self determination was with pre-conditions which were never fulfilled, now its become outdated.
Preconditions were also on India.

Pakistan wasn't supposed to withdraw troops unilaterally. And the withdrawal was only minimize troops. Pakistan and India even signed on the number of max troops they would keep.

Again lets be candid. If India knows that the Kashmiris would choose them then India would've done this plebiscite long long ago. But India knows Kashmiris would outright reject everything Indian.

Many Pakistanis are fine with that, and with joint administration. The Indians have lived this lie for so long, of 'integral part of India', on the basis of refusing to implement the UNSC resolutions and violating the conditions of the very instrument of accession that they claim gives them legal rights to the territory, that they cannot think beyond that.

Many Pakistanis are ok with this simply coz its easy to give away something you don't have & never will.

The issue is not of Kashmir as most ppl here would like to make it. Maharajah hari Singh ruled the state of Jammu & Kashmir which he aceeded to India, how can a "part" of that erstwhile state be contentious while the other is ok to remain with India ?

A look at the geography of the area would indicate that all water that enters Pakistan flows thru the Kashmir region of J&K..this is also one reason why Pak wants Kashmir & not Hindu Jammu Buddhist Laddakh & is ok if it stays " independent" or is "jointly administered ".

We do actually control AK, and our claim to the rest, and India's lack of legitimacy to the portion under its control is validated by the UNSC resolutions.

The option to separate Kashmir from Jammu and the NA's is a compromise, that woudl minimize the loss of territory for either side. Quite honestly, it doesn't matter if Pakistan believes there are Martians in Kashmir, our claim is a just and legal one.

If Kashmir problem doesn't get solution soon, this Pakistan's flag raising "habit" of Indian Muslims will spread all over India whereever they are being oppressed by Hindu fanatics.

India should be concerned.

India is for Indians.

All religioous communities have to conform.. there is no room for such stupidities. it will only strengthen Hindu fundamentalists & make things worse for non hindus.

Does he really mean this or was he just making himself portrayed as a strong leader?.

being candid (in his position) has its limits - with him unfortunately its more like foot-in-mouth disease. he desperately wants to prove his "statesman" credentials.(due to his reputation!)

Nonetheless, this flag raising (associating with Pakistan) is a fascinating phenomenon.

In Kashmir it is understandable, here less so.

Is it a sense of the strength of the idea of Pakistan and what it represents, that we see through the rapprochement at both the people and government levels with Bangladesh, despite our sordid past?

In India, displaying a Pak flag is the surest form of drawing attention to ur self & having ur self " located" on the Hindu fundamentalist radar. No other infrences should be drawn. remember, elections are not far away & regional parties play a maj role hence everyone will do whatever they can to be " noticed"
