You can see some scenes of your new aircrafts...

Bro I don't think they are going to receive supersonic T-38M.. We barely have enough for ourselves.. and indigenos Trainer Jet project is still a long way off..

Subsonic T-37C on the other hand.. we can do without, as Turboprops are to replace them gradually. So it makes sense..

Good luck although I doubt the 2023 timeline ... Looking at countries like China,Russua and US struggling with their fighters...

P.S; Is TFX a 4.5th gen or 5th generation .... It's design concept seems pretty conventional... Also has the work actually started? Which radar, engine etc would it use?

PAF wants LIFT... K-8 doesn't quiet fit the bill ... No wonder PAF has been looking at L-15 in the past and now Yak-130...

P.S; the T-38 deal sounds nonsense... As Turk members pointed out they themselves need these jets...

JF-17s twin seat variant is also under development so it seems quiet unlikely ... Apart from the fact that urdu press or "The Nation" arent worth shit.

All concepts are pure stealth and It was the twin engine variant, the biggest of all concept, selected. 2023 is the planned first flight date of prototype. Most probably, It will take 3-4 years more for certification, trials, new capabilities and induction. The project is in engine selection period. One of General Motors, PW and EuroJet will be produced in Turkey. After engine configuration is selected, The schedule will be accelerated. TF-X will be a stealth fighter that is going to carry weapon payloads inside of body.

-The AESA radar is under development and It is planned to be revealed around 2020.
-Short range IIR guided AA missiles called Goktug are under development.
-Long range Rf guided AA missiles called Sahin are under development.

TAI is the partner of F-35 project and producing center fuselage. The expertize gained in F-35 project will be trasnfered to TF-X.

So most probably its going to be T-37 that we'll get not T-38. With the confirmation of this one more thing would be confirmed that PAF is not going for an additional platform other than J-31/J-XX.

Turkey to gift Pakistan 34 jet trainers

ISLAMABAD: In a gesture of goodwill, Turkey has decided to provide 34 jet trainers to Pakistan as a gift. The Northrop T-38 Talon is a two-seat, twin-engine supersonic jet trainer and it was the world’s first supersonic trainer and also the most produced.

The T-38 remains in service as of 2015 in air forces throughout the world. The decision was conveyed by Turkish Commander of Air Force General Abidin Unal to his counterpart in Pakistan Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman when they met recently.

It is likely the planes would be handed over to Pakistan before the end of the year. Highly placed sources of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) told The News here other day that the supply of 34 planes will reduce financial burden on the PAF and the planes will cater to PAF needs at least for the next 10 years.

T-38M is a modernised Turkish Air Force T-38A with full glass cockpit and avionics, upgraded by Turkish Aerospace Industries under the project. The US Air Force is using T-38M extensively and about 50,000 pilots have got training on this type of plane. One plane costs US $5.879 million as it is a US made machine that is being used world over including Nasa.

The sources said that Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman would go to Turkey to receive the gift from the Turkish Air Force. The sources said that Pakistan would keep upgrading its JF-17 Thunder multirole fighter plane which is attracting buyers world over.

Pakistan has also initiated search for the most sophisticated multi-role fifth generation plane and for the purpose Sweden, American, Turkish and some European planes are being examined. India is acquiring planes of fifth generation although it has reduced its order from 126 to 36 and that deal too is facing snags. It is expected that Pakistan would also acquire fifth generation fighter-bomber planes for its air force, the sources added.

NOTE: I hope you people can just ignore the part highlighted in red.
After all it was THE NEWS so you should have expected something like this

That is a strange development. We do have some T-37 (entirely different plane) which are eventually to be replaced by K-8P. I cant understand where does the T-38 fit. Both K-8P and T-38 will be intermediate trainers. I understand if PAF wants an advanced trainer (if the do not want to develop a two seat version of JF-17 and fit it into that role) but another intermediate trainer?

Anyway, it is a gift :)
So,
THANK YOU TURKEY!

Sir may be PAF is also thinking to get some Iranian made Saeqeh as they are powered by RD33's. Hence Turkey has given these to compare them...

some1's pocket is empty, in fact there is a hole in the pocket.
so whatever they get donated they take it happily.

true that some1's pocket is really empty ordering 126 Rafales then news of 36 and that 36 are in danger now...France don;t even want to donate them to you

i suggest that some of these trainers should b modified to use weapons, radars and missiles and used as combat jets.
as u do not have enough fighters in PAF.

They will still perform better than the Junk LCA.

I doubt Turkey can afford to give T38. Its excellent trainer and Turkey really need at this moment. Turkey hasn't even retire its F4s yet.

o_O Now where did this come from?

NO, WE ARE NOT BUYING ANY IRANIAN PLANE
LOL...
In my opinion these will not be T-38's because if they are then it is similar to the F-5's that were refused by Pakistan in favor of the F-16 in the 80's. How ever there are some F-5 in storage with the Saudi's may be they would eventually be part of PAF with the upgrades done by Turkey...Though it is known that the Saeqah aircraft is the most advance variant of the F-5.

If indeed PAF does get the T-38's then it might also be thinking to get the F-5's from RSAAF. These aircraft may be for Pakistan Navy as they have 1400 KM range which is enough for protracting the sea lanes.

IMO this is not what PAF would be thinking.

Most probably the Turk's are going to gift PAF the T-37's on which Pilots from Pakistan train the Turkish pilots.

T-38 or T-37, these two would be hunted down like flies if used in Naval aviation tasks with using ordnance.

LOL..stereotype muslim forumer.

Bear in mind, your jets are upgraded by TAI, EW test range flight training, driving simulators are developed by HAVELSAN/ASELSAN. In addition:

NATO Multinational Military Flight Crew Training Center (MMFCT-C) - Turkish Air Force

Havelsan and Pakistan sign agreement on simulation and training

I am pretty much comfortable to have different experiences, skills to show and teach our bees but this type has became "a PDF classic", specially from some specific regions.

to put it bluntly TFX right now is nothing more than a concept...

yes the fuselage shall be built under ToT from USA.. The main developer of the jet.. A which despite sending over 250? Billion dollars and years in R&D is still years before actual production ... The 2023 timeframe is pure nonsense.

Dude you don't need articles and project reports to put dirt on a fifth gen aircraft which will go as planned just like any other defense project completed and will fly above Turkish skies that's all we care yes, simply don't opt it and go for Chinese copycats in which will be much more cheaper but doubtful to maintain and doesn't support STANAG standards, after a point you'll have to choose between the two. Either go for US based software systems or the Chinese.

Carry on, let's just say it didn't. It'll make the skies one way or another, how much delay? 5 years? Then still how many countries there'd be that have its own true 5th gen plane developed.
