Pakistan will back Iran in case of foreign attack: Zardari

What about trade and don't forget it is just not US aid. They can just ch ok you, anyways why do you want to get in to all this trouble for nothing mate countries like China, Russia who are stronger than you are playing it safe, so..... why you?

The farther Pakistan moves from US, closer will it get to PRC; this closeness will consolidate economic relations too. US will never want to lose an ally as strategically placed as Pakistan and as close to PRC.

Where did India come in to the picture mate, focus we are talking about Pakistan.

We are on a forum debating what is good or bad for Pakistan and I was just putting my point of view take it or leave it it is left up to you.

Only if your intentions were as noble as you state :what:

this is dilema of many pakistanis that china will fulfill U.S role....even north korea has started to come on table with U.s.
and china will make you dumping ground.its necessary to have relations with global powers and west.
U.S is here to stay atleast for 20-30 yrs more

.
As if indians really care whats best for Pakistan.

Anyways, U.S. itself can't afford another war. Iran is no Afghanistan or Iraq.

Well.... what different did I say, I was sharing the very same view point most of the Pakistanis in this thread aired, did my comments carry any hate?

You just are going through the Indian syndrome, deal with it.

. .
Question: Why did the Pakistani government make this statement?

Answer: Because USA is putting huge pressure behind the scenes for Pakistan to support a US military operation against Iran by allow US troops to attack Iran from Pakistan.

not at all;

US wanted to use Pakistani land to stage the invasion of Afghanistan....we bluntly refused without a blink.

why on earth would we ever allow Pakistan to be used as a staging point against Iran, especially NOW given the rapidly deteriorating relations with the US?

No Sir, I don't expect US to make such un-reasonable demands, the answers to which can be very obvious.

While, there are other places in region which serves US interests more than occupying Iran.

However, more interesting about this preemptive statement of Mr. Zardari..... who have his assets and children abroad!!!!!!........... I expect him to be more loyal to US rathr than Iran.
Same goes with current Pakistani govt.,...... being proud citizens of US & UK,....... I expect them to be more loyal to US than any thing else on earth.

Considering, the past leaks,... our politicians do make such fake statements, just for the sake of local consumption.

.
they dont even need Pakistan to be the listening post when they have positions in Iraq where even Iraqi government officials are probably not authorized....

they have a lot of those for-lease central asian states which are renting their anus to ivan in russia and renting their frontal to NATOs. kyrgyzstan comes to mind

and well hmmm gee whiz, they have Afghanistan too....for now at least. To Iran's credit at least, they have been able to maintain CONSIDERABLE influence in parts of the north and west of the land-locked country

.
Good decision , Pakistan should promote proper ties with Iran and Saudia and encourage them both to resolve the matter and not drag region into chaos to Please USA and their Oil grabing intentions

Iran is a peaceful nation

Abu..... If our foreign office does not approach them we cannot complain. Our foreign office need to see beyond Afghanistan, Iran & India.
There is lot of potential in these republics for Pakistan.
Instead, I have heard..... only complains from the officials of those states about our diplomacy and leaders.

Trust me... Turkmenistan is upto its nose ... due to the way we handled the TAPI.

who cares? TAPI is as good as dead......it's BEEN dead for over a friggin decade. A massive west-east pipeline that circumvents Iran??? Sounds more like a political pipeline than a common-sense pipeline!

apart from trade, well me personally I could care less about those land-locked central asian countries.......we have problems in Pakistan, but it still is a democracy. A very messy one.

what role models are those countries? They are a nightmare to invest in. They are corrupt to the core (but then again, so is zardari govt.). They are police-states with no free media. They dont even allow free practice of religion --in fact, all their terrorists/fanatics (the ones that make it out alive) go to Afghanistan and then end up crossing into our side. They cant even get along with eachother for Gods sakes. It's a mess!

i would be keen to see increased economic cooperation and regional integration --- Pakistan is their access to deep sea ports. I'd be happy to see the day people from these countries come for tourism (cultural and medical)...possibilities are endless once we can bring stability to the region. But i am digressing now.

.
You are going in wrong direction......
consider it a rich market. If we leave it, some one else will take it.
We have many educated people and CAR's got money and infrastructure projects.
Who cares if they are democratic or not or role model or not!!!!!!!!!

Still driving around in their cities gives cleaner look than ours and women equally take part in work.... this can be some good points to pickup for us.

Iran is a peaceful nation

Iran is not a peaceful nation. Iran is at war with Israel. Iran is the most destabilizing government in the Middle East. If war breaks out in the Persian Gulf it will be because of Iran's actions.
