Pakistan wants BRICS membership

Pakistan does need to be part of the grouping... however, it needs a core grouping to balance out global pressures and influences. Turks have something similar in pan Turkic grouping... ECO was never put to practice... no supranational infrastructure built to accommodate and expand travel, education and trade... cultural, linguistic or religious ties... that, instead a dead horse of saarc would be a better investment.

Maybe in future but for now we are over dependent on fossil fuel. Only 2.5% of vehicles on the road in the world are electric. Europe and US tried sanctions on Russia to punish for Ukraine war but it had only mixed results. Russian factories are running 24 hours to manufacture weapons for the war. Russia is more united and even Putin mentioned to emulate India for its made in India initiative. Russia is addressing their population decline by retaining talent in the country and encourage women to have more kids.

US produces more hydrocarbons than Russia. India and China are dependent on outsiders for now.

Russia is a declining power. People are not going to have kids because the government says so.

Russian prostitutes are not sleeping with Indian men because they like it. It tells a lot about the state of Russia

Saarc is a dead horse because of Pakistan. India has given MFN status to Pakistan, but it not only did not show reciprocity but stopped all trade altogether

We have BIMSTEC which is very active and a produtive organisation. Intra-regional trade in BIMSTEC is around $70 bn. That constitutes only 7% of the total global trade of its member-countries. This is far less compared to ASEAN’s $600 bn intra-regional trade (constituting 23% of its global trade). A Free Trade Agreement among BIMSTEC countries is a good option to enhance intra-regional trade volume. However, issues of trade patterns and complementarities remain hurdles.

. . . .
if Pakistan could not succeed with hand to mouth handouts from China during CPEC how on earth are we going to succeed with BRICS???

Pakistan is not a positon to do business

business is for educated people not beggars like the current Pakistani government

My comment was not on the merits of saarc, nor bimstec!
It was for and on core grouping of people and nations. Pakistan is essentially isolated...
Chessboard is completely open though...
With western defeat in Afghanistan the most immediate and concurrent understanding is that the great game has finally been settled. The combined west finally locked out of Eurasia... it is this... that gives context to both current Ukrainian conflict and upcoming sepoy war on Afghanistan. Pakistanis and Ukrainians mere flesh for the grind.

Indians are therefore conveniently set and trapped in indo-pacific... their utility lies in another brewing conflict.
