Pakistan tour of West Indies 2017

.
West Indies won the toss and decided to bat first in overcast conditions at the Providence Stadium. Jason Holder has won the toss in all three ODIs, but this is the first time he has opted to set a target.

Veerasammy Permaul came in for his first ODI since November 2013, while Alzarri Joseph sat this deciding game out. "We expect it to be a slower surface with a bit of moisture, so we've brought Veerasammy in," Holder said. Shannon Gabriel, who was a doubt with a hamstring injury, was passed fit.

Pakistan went into the series decider unchanged from the team that won the second ODI by 74 runs. "It looks like a damp pitch, and we aim to get them out as early as we can," Sarfraz Ahmed said. "Our bowlers are in form and I have faith in them to do the job."

The series is all square going into the final ODI. West Indies won the first match with their highest successful ODI chase before Pakistan levelled things up on Sunday.

Akamal and shezad as expected got out after scoring century
Now Pakistan is trying hard to make a simple target out of reach

.
Let's hope Hafeez doesn't get out in a similar fashion.

.
:rofl::rofl: Kakmal, shocking how he manages to find a place in the team again and again, crap batsman even a crappier WK/Fielder
He got in team after performing in domestic but he is technically very poor batsman and is not reliable in different batting condition..alway get out by playing some stupid shot

Pakistan won by 6 wickets (with 41 balls remaining)

A 113-run partnership between Pakistan veterans Shoaib Malik - who scored his ninth ODI century with a six to seal victory - and Mohammad Hafeez saw Pakistan canter to a six-wicket win and clinch the three-match series 2-1. The pair settled the early nerves after an edgy start when three wickets went down in the first nine overs.

Pakistan's chase of 234 got off to an eventful start, with a first-ball wicket, a nasty collision between Ahmed Shehzad and Babar Azam, a dropped catch at mid-on and a brilliant grab by wicketkeeper Shai Hope all crammed into a lively first six overs. Babar edged Shannon Gabriel into his stumps less than three overs later, and the upshot from a frenetic opening Powerplay was Pakistan had lost three wickets for 45, and, for the umpteenth time, were looking wobbly against a not overwhelming target.

The one positive Pakistan could glean from the situation was Hafeez and Malik were at the crease together, and with 430 ODIs between them, they represented vast experience, if nothing else. It showed, too, with the pair ensuring they made survival their main priority for the next hour or so amid some testing spin bowling by Devendra Bishoo and Ashley Nurse, and slowly began to turn the game in Pakistan's favour.

By the time Hafeez holed out to deep square leg, the visitors needed less than 100 to win. Skipper Sarfraz Ahmed then joined Malik, the pair picking off the poor deliveries with consummate ease in a stroll towards their target. Towards the end, Malik was playing with such ease that he was able to give himself the chance of a century which he completed in style with a straight six off Jason Holder. It might not always have been smooth sailing, but in the end, it was unquestionably clinical.

So people stating that Hafeez or Shoaib should have been dropped for the decider must be happy they were not listened to now. :)

Great game, a very composed performance by our middle order. I cannot remember when was the last time we chased a target with this calm and composed approach. Well done Pakistan. I hope we can improve in the key areas for the Champions trophy and get our ranking improved. Sitting in 8th position is quite embarrassing to be honest. :D

Hafeez strike rate 67 and shoaib strike rate 82. You decide who should be included in ODI team. 67 is a totally unacceptable strike rate. plays too many dot balls. l would keep shoaib bcuz he is a good out fielder and useful spin bowler but Hafeez, Shahzad and KAkmal must go. If we keep the same team for Champions Trophy we will be butchered.

.
Sir i agree, generally speaking the strike rate of 57 is unacceptable, sure. However with three down for 45 chasing a low total, this is exactly what was required. It took us over the line with good 8-10 overs to spare. One need to plan his innings and the overall team innings according to the situation. All that said, there is no disagreement that some of our players need to understand the fact that modern cricket have evolved into a much more fast paced game and they need to improve on that.

.
Its a shame how weak this West Indies team is, and its because of West Indies board not paying the players enough.
