ISLAMABAD:
Islamabad will launch a diplomatic offensive against New Delhi and seek change of venue for the upcoming International Cricket Council’s World T20 tournament scheduled to be played in India next year in the wake of security threats posed by Hindu extremist groups.

This comes as the government in Indian Punjab called off the Kabaddi World Cup scheduled for November following violence triggered by the desecration of the Sikh holy book.
Shiv Sena storms BCCI HQ to protest Indo-Pak cricket meeting
Activists from far-right Hindu group Shiv Sena on Monday stormed into the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) offices in Mumbai and shouted anti-Pakistan slogans just as the BCCI president and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Shaharyar Khan were to discuss the possibility of a bilateral cricket series.
“The recent incidents clearly show that India is no more a safe country for hosting international sporting events, including the T20 World Cup,” said a senior government official on Tuesday.
Chances of Pakistan-India series slim, says Shaharyar
The official, who did not wish to be named, said the government would discuss the issue with the PCB and decide whether it was appropriate to send the national team for the mega event to be held in India early next year. “The PCB should take up this issue with the ICC and seek the change of venue,” the official added.
The PCB chairman, who is currently in New Delhi, on Tuesday dismissed speculations that Pakistan might boycott next year’s T20 World Cup. However, official sources said the final decision would be taken by the government. “The PCB is an independent body but when it comes to the security and safety of our players, the government will take the final decision,” he explained.

It is believed that the Foreign Office would also advise the PCB to stop ‘begging’ the BCCI for a bilateral cricket series. The foreign ministry believes the Indian government would not give the BCCI the go-ahead for restoring cricketing ties. “The situation is bleak. There is no chance of resumption of cricketing ties with India in near future,” said a Foreign Office official familiar with the development.
The official said if the current anti-Pakistan sentiments persisted in India, then it would be extremely difficult for the government to allow the national team to participate in the T20 World Cup.

It is believed that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was keen on reviving bilateral cricketing ties with India in a bid to ease the worsening diplomatic relations between the two nuclear-armed neighbours. Cultural and sports exchanges in the past were used as a key confidence-building measure to improve not only people-to-people contacts but also create better atmosphere for talks on contentious issues.
Sources said Shaharyar was supposed to meet political authorities in India apart from BCCI officials in order to convince the Indian government for restoring sporting ties. However, he could not meet any political leader in New Delhi prompting the Foreign Office to conclude that PCB now must abandon efforts for cricket series with India.

Kabaddi World Cup cancelled
Indian Punjab’s Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal on Tuesday cancelled the sixth edition of the Kabaddi World Cup scheduled to be held in the state in from November 14 to 28. Badal, who also holds the sports portfolio, said that he cancelled the tournament as a “mark of grief over the recent incidents of sacrilege of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji”.
Sources in the state government told IANS that the event was cancelled owing to the volatile security situation in the state after the desecration of the Guru Granth Sahib.

“At a time when the entire Sikh community is shell-shocked with grief at the ghastly manner in which the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji has been desecrated, holding such a tournament is not appropriate,” Badal said in a statement. “My feelings, too, have been outraged and my conscience is not allowing me to preside over a tournament at a time when the Sikh community in India and all over the world is in grief.”

Not a bad demand either...These BCCI crooks should be taught with sense of responsibility...They are fine with extending useless IPL matches but they do not want quality cricket match between India and Pakistan...What an irony...

The recent increase in Shiv sena terrorist attacks on Minorities where beside targeting muslims the foreign tourists are being beaten by Hindu terrorists both RSS and Shiv sena and increased violence in Maoists majority areas as well as recent flare up against increased occupying indian army's human rights violations in occupied Kashmir and to add fuel to the fire extremist hindus gave recently started playing with religious sentiments of Sikhs resulting in another set of riots and protests. I think under current deteriorating indian security situation which is set to get worst only with time given terrorists supporting policies of modi government it would be safe for the visiting teams if the tournament is held at some safe and secure place like Australia or westindies where people love sports .

Also in India if their team loses a match specially against Pakistan their angry mobs led by saffron terrorists will present a danger for local muslims and bloody riots may erupt.

So I think its even in Indian interest to move T20 out of India which is better than getting embarrassed in front of whole world during the series.

ICC president Zahir Abbas should make sure the security and the best way is to move the tournament.

Recent cancellation of Kabadi worldcup is an example of Indian inability to conduct such series under current violent circumstances and its a very small event as compared to cricket T20 worldcup so its upto ICC president Abbas now to make a tough call.

Wow shiv sena's Attack are terrorist attack???? Madrasa definition of throwing ink as the terrorist attack.

Wow shiv sena's Attack are terrorist attack???? Madrasa definition of throwing ink as the terrorist attack.
Just to educate you any thing that attempts to terrorize some one is called a terrorist attack .

Throwing ink at a respected and honored person just to terrorize him so that he should not celebrate his religious festivals in his own way as your religion as per your definition doesn't allow it is terrorizing .

Attacking BCCI office to terrorize Pakistani and Indian boards chairmen is another terrorist attack.

Attacking foreigners for having tattoos to terrorize them to either leave india or remove tattoos is another terrorists attack.

If we go by your definition even US thinks she didn't terrorize Japanese by hitting them with nukes she just did good to world by finishing a long getting boring war but in reality they did terrorize Japanese to secure their win.

We don't have to define terror as per our own liking and disliking do you think that poor man's family who was killed in dadri, india for something he didn't even do right in front of them was not terrorized ? And not only them all the muslims in that area particularly and in India generally ?

People are now asking what kind of Hinduism is this as we are eating Cows for centuries they never had an issue with it why all of a sudden now? Ghar wapsi and other such shit may be normal and logical to you but these all are tools of terrorizing minorities and you see even Sikhs are no exception now.

I wish good luck to pakistan.

As i see they are about to yet another time make a fool out of themselves as they have made in past.
There is a saying "haathi chale bazaar kutte bhonkein hazaar".

Cricket: Pakistan refuses to participate in blind Asia Cup in India | SAMAA TV
LAHORE: Pakistan’s blind cricket team Tuesday has pulled out from Asia Cup tournament to be hosted in India citing security threats, Samaa reported.According the press release issued here, Shiv Sena’s recent attack on Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) headquarters in Mumbai, cancellation of PCB chairman meeting with his Indian counterpart and withdrawal of Aleem Dar from officiating the last two India-South Africa series matches due to security concerns compels the Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC) to consider the matter of Pakistan’s team security.

It further stated the PBCC had started the preparation of the said event, team was also shortlisted, but the current scenario all of a sudden changed the circumstances.

Yesterday, PCB chairman Shahryar Khan expressed his disappointment in New Delhi after BCCI officials failed to agree to the December series.

The International Cricket Council is also concerned with the recent developments took place in India.

Following the Shiv Sena attack in Mumbai, ICC withdrew Pakistani neutral umpire Aleem Dar from the ODI at Wankhede Stadium scheduled on Sunday.

Host broadcasters have also pulled out Pakistani commentators Wasim Akram and Shoaib Akhtar.

First step in right direction to put these terrorists to their place.

ICC president should make sure that T20 world cup is moved to a safe country free of extremist and terrorist Hindu ideology.

Let's see how the they will beg.
After begging for series now they will beg for cancellation of event.
The begging effect of this country doesn't seem to go away I think.

ICC is being run by BCCI.Nothing is going to come out of it and Pakistan ultimately comes and participates in the event shamelessly.

Great move as West indies and Sri lanka supports Pakistan it will be done as ICC president is also Pakistani so its easy to move things in the right direction.

That son of a *****Najam sethi the sold A$$ hole was PCB chairman when this big three got approved otherwise it would have never happened anyways given the daily terrorist incidents by RSS and Shiv sena in India I am sure even UK and Australia and South Africa will side with Pakistan too on this to move the tournament out of unstable and violent India to any of these three nations.

So lets compare logic.....a UN designated terrorist is roaming free in pakistan who has been provided with PM like security and pakistanis have the guts to call protests as terrorists attacks

Please dont come to India. Play with some local teams there :)

Seems like some people dont want to live in reality.

1. It is not about begging. It is an international Sport event and Pakistan has every right to participate in it.
2. If India is unable to give security to an international team in the face of growing Hindu terrorism then India should not hold international sports events.

3. If Indians are still insisting then you are bound to provide security to Pakistani players and make sure holding of international matches wherein Pakistani team is participating.

4. BUT it has been proven that India is unable to stand up to these Hindu extremists and what happened to South African players and what these Hindu extremists of India did in last few days, it is high time that all international sports events should be shifted from India

If you people take panga with bcci, it will make sure international cricket never returns to Pakistan..don't get flowed away with emotions.
