PM Imran to send message to Modi in his speech to local Hindu community during upcoming visit to Tharparkar: sources

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistani government has decided to approach the International Court of Justice (ICJ) over widespread human rights abuses by Indian forces in Occupied Kashmir.

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi confirmed the decision. "An in-principle decision has been taken to take the issue of disputed Kashmir to the International Court of Justice," the foreign minister said on Tuesday.

He said all legal aspects were considered before taking the decision, and that the matter would be taken to the ICJ as soon as possible. He said the law ministry would soon issue further details in this regard.

The decision comes after Pakistan's recent diplomatic victory at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), which met for the first time in over five decades last week to discuss the critical situation in Indian occupied Kashmir.

During the meeting, UNSC members urged parties to the Kashmir dispute to refrain from taking any unilateral action, effectively rejecting India's stance that Kashmir was an internal issue and not an internationally recognised dispute.

Trump phones PM Imran, expresses desire to reduce tension in region: FM Qureshi

The disputed territory of Jammu and Kashmir has been divided between India and Pakistan since independence from Britain in 1947. It was extremely rare for the Security Council to discuss Kashmir. The last time there was a full Security Council meeting on the Himalayan region was in 1965.

Sources told Geo News that four of the five permanent members – China, the United States, Great Britain, and Russia – openly backed Pakistan's stance at the UNSC meeting last week.

They said that, during the meeting, Britain called for an investigation into reports of torture and human rights violations in Indian occupied Kashmir.

Only France opposed Pakistan's position at the UNSC meeting, they said.

Pakistan's Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi will soon start a diplomatic campaign over the Kashmir issue.

Sources said that Prime Minister Imran Khan is expected to send a message to his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi in his speech to the local Hindu community during his upcoming visit to Tharparkar's Shiv Mandir.

Now we will how much they adhere to international Law & whej verdicts start to come out after long process then You'll find indians with all excuses that these laws do not apply bcz of THIS & THAT Reason -- We can Hang the Monkey & Stop entertaining Indian Requests & ICJ rulings once India starts crying & refuse to follow up...

It's going to be very bad for indian image & int'l coverage it'll will get --

Well done To Modi & RSS Hindu Facists.

lol ICJ has no Jurisdiction here
India is doing serious Geneva Convention violation in occupied Kashmir hence there is jurisdiction of ICj in the matter. People of Occupied Kashmir are NON COMBATANTS under Geneva Convention and hence they cannot be targeted by Indian occupied armed forces.

Plus its a disputed territory btw Pak & Ind so india cannot claim that its internal matter otherwise they'll have to say goodbye to Their Monkey KhulbushanYadev aka mubarak patel... now Pakistan can rock the Stage & for long time it will bring international coverage kashmir & Kashmir issue will get highlighted again and again... Indian image will start to sink with their facist policies & economy is already going in reverse gear.

Excellent. Build a strong narrative for implementing the plan of action.

This step is not going to stop Hindu genocidal maniacs. They only understand language of Danda. If our state is shying away from using Danda then forget Kashmiri Muslims.

All types of DANDAS will be validated eventually. This is leading up to it.

Take a look at the following clause of Shimal Agreement which india violated.

"In Jammu and Kashmir, the line of control resulting from the ceasefire of December 17, 1971, shall be respected by both sides without prejudice to the recognized position of either side. Neither side shall seek to alter it unilaterally, irrespective of mutual differences and legal interpretations. Both sides further undertake to refrain from the threat or the use of force in violation of this line"

As expected and analysed.

Before monkeys of either color jump in... Would love to know under what convention this case be pleaded?

As far as legalise goes...almost impossible to prosecute. There needs to be a solid evidence of mass genocide for ICJ to even consider interfering.

curfew and reports from BBC and other newpapers is enough evidence. Even there is viral video indian army throwing stones to the residence so all these will be presented in due time.

I think icj should atleast give stay orders to stop indian brutality and curfew in kashmir
