Don't go there, or else I could provide you tons of example of companions of prophet who didn't followed Prophet instructions word by word

(Hint, Hazrat Fatima (R.A) fight with Hazrat Abu bakr (R.A) even documented in Bukhaari shareef. Hazrat Abu Bakr refusal of handing Bagh e Fidak to Bibi Fatima despite Prophet gave Bibi Fatima that garden. So Remind me what hadith says about whom who will harm Prophet (PBUH) family? Ahl e Bayt? I can quote many hadiths from Bukhari sharif. !)

Why Hazrat Umar added lines to Fajar prayer when prophet (PBUH) prohibited of making any innovations in Islam?

ETC ETC

My orientation is well known, unfortunately the apple of my eyes @ZYXW is missing in action from PDF- @Hyperion has stolen her from me and I shall one day exact terrible revenge for that slight. But for @hinduguy, anything man- I am willing to swing. Its akin to Hype leaving Butty in a happy mood for a week or two.:D

Let me be more precise.

Where In Quran it is written about music?

So The music I quoted, where it has romantic poetry in it????? Oh wait,,,, You can only advice others to ,know something and then talk but you don't know yourself how confused your whole reply is without even knowing what you are saying, so you should better remain to the point, answer what you are being asked, don't go astray

At Least, When arguing, you should know something and this open your mouth for arguing ! shows the level of knowledge you got about. I asked you a simple question and you couldn't even answered that!

P.S. GO read Bukhaari, Instead of spouting BS here and there to know about what happen to BIBI fatima

Even you don't know enough about what is written and trying to become a moral BS enforcer

I gave an answer about the interpretation of the issue regarding different school of thoughts. Respect diversity, Zarvan and read the Hadees and the Quran's words about judging someone else's eman.

@Zarvan , you were not there at the time of the Prophet (SAW) or do you claim that as well now? Come with proofs and remember that there are various schools of thoughts in Islam by scholars much greater than you or I or are you one of them? Come with proofs and remember what the Quran says about tolerance and brotherhood. Sick of people like you and the Mullah Inc. corrupting the faith for everyone because of your narrow mindedness and prejudices. You've an opinion, fine, we respect that. Don't listen to music. We've one too, let's listen to it at the end we're going to answer Allah for ourselves or is Zarvan the advocate for humanity (as I guess only Muslims are humans). Emulate the Prophet (SAW) if you truly do this out of faith, he didn't go about it like 'Mr I will, have proof, you die my enemies!', if you're doing it out of your ego then become a salesman and sell something else.

Mr I have quoted 40 Hadees Mr and what happened in time of HAZRAT MUHAMMAD SAW is saved in Hadees and his history books Mr Muslims have saved Sir and Sorry Sir in Islam ALLAH and HAZRAT MUHAMMAD SAW have clearly told what is halal and what is haram Sir and also asked Muslims to stop evils either from hands or through mouth or through considering it bad in heart but that is the lowest grade of Iman if you want to promote haram than don't cry if people use Taliban style methods to stop them and Sir because in Muslim societies Haram things can't be tolerated for long Sir they will face reaction and that would be really severe one

@Aeronaut , do we allow religious discrimination on PDF? I'm pretty sure our Shia Muslim members would find this quite offensive.

Mr if a person will bring a topic I would have to answer Mr @Aeronaut and I can prove many things which they say from their own books

Introduction

In recent years, certain developments have taken place which has brought the subject of music as an extremely significant issue. Music has spread to such an extent that it is afflicting every muslim in this modern era. Today, individuals are being confronted by a situation where one is forced to listen to music whether by choice or without. Music is played in nearly all department stores and super markets. Even whilst walking in the streets, we find cars blaring with music. No matter which direction we go, we are blasted with music. The increasing popularity of music, which is prevalent in our society poses a tremendous danger for muslims.

Music is Haraam

References within the context of the Holy Qur`aan along with the Hadith of the Prophet Sallalahu alihi wa sallam (Peace be upon him) confirm that music is haraam.
Interpreters of the Qur`aan have defined the term `lahwal hadith` which is mentioned in the Qur`aan as:

1) Singing and listening to songs.
2) Purchasing of male and female singers.
3) Purchase of instruments of fun and amusement.

When Sayyidana Abdullah Ibne Mas`ood radiyallahu Anhu (Allah be pleased with him), a very close companion of our Prophet Sallalahu alihi wa sallam (Peace be upon him) was asked about the meaning of the term `lahwal hadith`, he replied

“I swear by Him besides whom there is no other God,that it refers to ghinaa (singing ).”
This statement, he repeated three times. This view is unanimously supported by the four Khalifas, the eminent Sahabaah, Tabi`een, the four Imaams and other reliable Islaamic scholars and authorities.

One hadith from the Bukhari Shareef, the most authentic Book of Hadith, further confirms unlawfulness of music and singing :

`There will be people of my Ummah who will seek to make lawful; fornication, wine-drinking and the use of ma`aazif ( musical instruments ).`
Detailed analysis of the arabic word `ma`aazif ` shows that it refers to musical instruments, the sounds of those musical instruments and singing with the accompaniment of instruments.

Closer analysis of the wordings of the Hadith establishes the prohibition of music. Firstly, the words `seek to make lawful ` shows that music is not permissible, as logically one can only seek to make lawful that which is not allowed. Secondly, if music was not prohibited, then it would not have been brought within the same context as fornication and wine-drinking.

MUSIC - IT`S EFFECTS

Muslims are aware that nothing has been prohibited by Allah except that which is harmful to the welfare of a Muslim individual and the society as a whole. The divine attribute behind the prohibition of music can be comprehended by looking into the diverse influence music can have.

Experiments carried out by doctors and professors have confirmed that the music of today is such that it does not only affect the brain, but each and every organ of one`s body. There is a close relationship between music and bodily movements. We find that people listening to music automatically start tapping their fingers and feet, as if the music is permeating in their blood.

It is also proved that music affect`s one`s emotions, increases arousal in terms of alertness and excitement and also leads to various physiological changes in the person. In a psychology experiment, it was found that listening to moderate type of music increased one`s normal heart beat, whilst listening to rock music the heart beat increased even further, yet people claim that music has no effect.

It is a very ignorant and misguided attitude to percieve music as a form of pleasure and passing of time, since the messages of today`s music follow a general theme of love, fornication, drugs and freedom.

We find that the whole world is obsessed with the kufr idea of freedom, i.e. freedom of speech, freedom of movement, etc. In modern schools and universities, we observe independence, free expression and secular thinking being encouraged. This idea of freedom, “ It`s my life, I`ll do what I want” is a predominant, underlying theme of today`s music. It is being used as a means for drilling those modern ideologies that are totally contrary to Islamic Shariah and values, into the minds of Muslims.

One should abstain from evil audacities such as listening to music and encourage others to do the same too.

MAY ALMIGHTY ALLAH GUIDE US ALL TO THE STRAIGHT PATH-
AMEEN.

Answer:
Music unlawful
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
Your Question: is listening to music is haram?????
Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 7.494B Narrated by Abu Amir
that he heard the Prophet (saws) saying, "From among my followers there will be some people who will consider illegal sexual intercourse, the wearing of silk, the drinking of alcoholic drinks and the use of musical instruments, as lawful.”
Al-Tirmidhi Hadith 3153 Narrated by Muhammad ibn Hatib al-Jumahi
The Prophet (saws) said, "The distinction between what is lawful and what is unlawful is the song and the tambourine at a wedding."
Sunan of Abu-Dawood Hadith 4909 Narrated by Abdullah ibn Mas'ud
I heard the Messenger of Allah (saws) say: ‘Singing (of unlawful songs) produces hypocrisy in the hearts.’
Beloved brother in Islam, if one takes ‘music’ to mean the melodious sound of the Muaddin while calling to prayer, or the beautiful sound of the ‘Qari’ when he recites the Holy Quran, or the musical sound of the ‘daff’ (tambourine) that is played to celebrate one’s wedding or on the Day of Eid, or the tunes of chorus sung by the mujahideen, etc.; these are not only permitted, these types of music are absolutely encouraged in Islam.
Thus, ‘music’ per say is not forbidden in Islam; what is indeed forbidden in Islam is the illegal string music which is so rampant in movies, television, radios, etc. which encourage ‘fahisha’ and indecency.
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 7 Surah Aaraaf verse 33:
33 Say: ‘The things that my Lord hath indeed forbidden are: ‘faahisha’ (shameful deeds) whether open or secret; sins and trespasses against truth or reason; assigning of partners to Allah for which He hath given no authority; and saying things about Allah of which ye have no knowledge.’
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 6 Surah Anaam verse 151:
151 Say: "Come I will rehearse what Allah hath (really) prohibited you from: join not anything as equal with Him; be good to your parents: kill not your children on a plea of want; We provide sustenance for you and for them; come not even near ‘faahisha’ (shameful deeds) whether open or secret; take not life which Allah hath made sacred except by way of justice and law”: thus doth He command you that ye may learn wisdom.
If one looks around the society we live in today, one would notice that conventional ‘music’ is related to almost every place that encourages ‘fahisha’ or indecency; and it is this concept of ‘fahisha’ and indecency that Allah has strictly declared haraam for the believers. The principle in Islam is that every road that leads to the forbidden is also forbidden; and as illegal conventional ‘music’ is an accomplice to and leads or encourages ‘fahisha’ and indecency, it too would be considered forbidden.
Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 2.103 Narrated by Urwa on the authority of Aisha
On the days of Mina, (11th, 12th, and 13th of Dhul-Hijjah) Abu Bakr came to her while two young girls were beating the tambourine and the Prophet (saws) was lying covered with his clothes. Abu Bakr scolded them and the Prophet (saws) uncovered his face and said to Abu Bakr, "Leave them, for these days are the days of 'Id and the days of Mina."
Al-Tirmidhi Hadith 3154 Narrated by Aisha
I had a girl of the Ansar whom I gave in marriage, and Allah's Messenger (saws) said, "Why do you not sing, Aisha, for this clan of the Ansar like singing."
Singing in its essence is neither prohibited nor unlawful in Islam. Provided none of the commands and tenets of Islam are violated, it is permissible in Islam for one to sing, especially on joyous occasions like marriage, Eid, etc. if one wishes to do so.
What determines whether a song or singing is lawful or unlawful is what is said in the songs and whose ears access those songs. The Muaddin (or caller to prayer) chanting the adhaan, or one reciting the Quran in a melodious voice, or the chanting of the ‘talbeeyah’ during pilgrimage, or the chanting of the mujahideen in battle, etc. are not only lawful but highly encouraged and meritorious in the Sight of Allah Subhanah.
But if the songs being sung encourage indecency, ‘fahisha’, or glamorize elements of evil, or disbelief, or hypocrisy, or ‘shirk’, etc.; or songs which are sung by women when in the company or presence of non-mehram men; or songs being sung with illegal string music, etc.; then all such songs and all such singing would be deemed prohibited in Islam.
Your Question: ….and i saw in one website that using taf is allowed for womens and it is haram for mens... IS IT TRUE??????????
Al-Tirmidhi Hadith 3153 Narrated by Muhammad ibn Hatib al-Jumahi
The Prophet (saws) said, "The distinction between what is lawful and what is unlawful is the song and the tambourine at a wedding."
To the best of our knowledge there is no specific prohibition in Shariah either against the men or the women playing or listening to the legal music of the ‘daff’ (tambourine) during weddings, provided of course that none of the tenets of Shariah (mixed gatherings, display of indecency, etc.) are violated.
If one trusts, obeys, and follows the guidance and commands of Allah and His Messenger (saws), one can be assured of never ever being misled; but if one believes, obeys and follows any other guidance, other than that of Allah and His Messenger (saws), one can be assured of being led astray.
Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
Your brother and well wisher in Islam,
Burhan @jaibi and @mafiya read the above
