Pakistan Tells U.S. To Leave 'Drone' Attack Base

Their defense budget is more than Pak GDP,is it difficult to grow balls then ?
Sorry , my bad. It is not more, it is 4 times more that pak GDP...
Almost half of India's GDP.
17 times India's defense budget
250times Pakistan defense budget,
roughly speaking, they are BIG...

Bro. if it is not working for US then its fine.

At least it will work for Pakistani people who just want to turn there eyes from whats happening.... Its enough for people who wants to be deaf.

US or any other power will not easily stop all agenda (good or bad) until ALL Pakistan people stand tall under common agenda. Let it start for humanity and all Evil present in ALL societies.

'Gandhi's strategy will never work with the US' by this I mean it is not going to stop the US from doing what it is doing to Pakistan. The topic here is not what the Pakistani people are doing to or for Pakistan.

Timely demand for vacation of Shamsi

THE announcement of Defence Minister Chaudhary Ahmad Mukhtar that the United States has been asked to vacate the Shamsi airbase in Balochistan has widely been hailed by people of Pakistan, who consider it belated but still timely move as part of the efforts to restore national honour and dignity. According to him, Americans have started moving equipment and materials from the base, which had been leased to the UAE but was being used by the United States for logistic support for its forces in Afghanistan and carrying out highly provocative drone attacks in tribal areas of Pakistan.

The decision is in line with unanimous resolution of the parliament that requires of the government to review its policy if the United States persists with its drone attacks. In contemptuous disregard to the demand contained in the resolution, which symbolised voice of the nation, Americans are not only continuing their drone attacks but also we have seen accentuation in the process. As Pakistan cannot, for obvious reasons, confront drones and shoot them down, the least it can do is to ask the United States to vacate the base that was being used as a nerve centre for drone attacks. In the first place, it is devoid of higher moral values and principles to have allowed a country use of our soil to facilitate attacks on the neighbouring country. But the case of Shamsi is all the more striking as it was used to plan and execute drone attacks against Pakistan’s own people. What a tragedy that we have all along been lodging protests to the United States over drone attacks but behind-the-curtain allowed use of our own base for the purpose. Shamsi had become subject of a heated national debate and disgust with people considering it as a stigma for the country and therefore, the move of the Government to get it vacated is a welcome development. This is a futuristic decision aimed at safeguarding national interests and restoring national honour, which began with the arrest of killer Raymond Davis. But the entire process must be based on principles and should not convey the impression of a tit-for-tat approach i.e. in reaction to reduction and stoppage of aid by the United States as per its past practice of leaving Pakistan in the lurch.

CIA shifts drone operations to Afghan bases

The US central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has diversified sources for drone operations on Pak-Afghan border after Pakistan’s growing anger and reluctance to allow use of its Shamsi Air Base for the purpose, sources said on Thursday.

According to the sources, CIA which has been using Shamsi Air Base in Pakistan since 2004 had to develop other sources, largely based in Afghanistan, to carry out its drone operations targeting al-Qaeda and its affiliates, allegedly using sanctuaries in Fata region.

Pakistan had asked US to vacate Shamsi Air Base shortly after the arrest of CIA man Raymond Davis, and since then CIA is primarily using Afghan soil to execute its drone operations, the sources said.

Sources further said that CIA is primarily using two airstrips – one on Jalalabad Air Base and the other on Bagaram Air Base in Afghanistan to carry out its drone operations. The same sources said the CIA was also using some facilities in UAE to operate drones. However, this could not be confirmed form other sources.

When contacted, the US Embassy Spokesperson Courtney Beale said she cannot comment on the security related issues and advised this scribe to approach US State Department in this regard.

The CIA has been targeting terrorist’s hideouts in Pakistan’s tribal areas on Pak-Afghan border despite the opposition from Islamabad. Although USA has been claiming success in attacking high profile targets, which many believed were mere tactical successes, the drone hits have caused extensive collateral damage.

Defence analysts believe that the US operated drones have not only belittled counter terrorism efforts of Pakistan but also generated anti-US sentiments among the tribesmen.

Pakistan’s political and military leadership lodged its strongest-ever protest with US when a CIA operated drone recently hit a peace congregation in North Waziristan killing many tribal elders and Pakistani security personnel.

Similarly, another recent drone attack in South Waziristan earned a strong criticism in which a pharmacy shop was hit and many innocent people were killed.

There have been nearly 300 drone attacks in Fata region since 2004 in which hundreds of civilians have been killed and thousands others injured.

Please tell me you are joking...

if you use your little brain then u can realize that drones cant work without command and control centre, and cutting off the power means they cant operate the drones, the command centre needs electricyt to run them, hence drones cant fly, if they operate drones from shamsi base

Umm you may not realize this but the pilots are flying it from the U.S.

Or they can just use generators, if they like they can even use electricians to by-pass or use energy from elsewhere.

.
We have told them to leave, vacate our base. We cannot provide security to their people,” a senior air force official told Reuters.

what's coming up in future ?

come on man, this is pakistan, not a lawless land, what if we stop the drone feuls, what if we starve the americans, what if we kill them all and say alibans did this

.
The drones need fuel to operate, & most of the fuel & other supplies go through Pakistan.

US rejects !!!

Wonder whether Shamsi is in Balochistan or Buffalo for such an outright denial

This will not be a good move, because the US needs Pakistan's cooperation for the "end-game" in Afghanistan, & for peace negotiations with the Taliban. This is not a good way of handling the situation, they will only find themselves in more trouble without Pakistan's cooperation. The fact that the US rejected the demand to vacate Shamsi base only goes to show that the US is extremely dependent on Pakistan for logistical support in this WOT.

They give a middle finger to your 'demands' and out rightly reject them and you say they are somehow dependent on you. That's classic man, Pure genius. Saying I am taking a bath after accidentally tripping and falling into the river !

Pakistan defense minister once again popular by his thrilling statements. Where we know that trustful source of information will remain ISPR over any national security issues. If US can call back trainers on demand of PA then why couldn't they leave Shamsi Air base as Pakistan want? They already have shifted drones to air bases in Afghanistan then what was need to rise this question again? US itself want stable relations with Pakistan and because of Shamsi Air base US will not go for another political clash or adventure with Pakistan where they have sufficient facilities in Afghanistan for drone strikes.

Pakistan defense minister usually had not idea what he was talking about, irresponsibility over such level only Pakistani government can allow with appointment of strange person as Defense minister.
