Pakistan successfully test-fires Land based anti-ship missile

Shouldnt this missile be part of air force technically for anti ship role? Also since its subsonic missile how likely are its chances to succeed against systems like Phalanx?
not only phalanx sir but barak 8 too the only way it can succeed is to fire it in numbers

You're probably thinking that information from the ZDK-03 for mid-course guidance directs deployment by the PAF, but thats not necessary. It could also be relayed via a PN P-3C Orion or a PN vessel. Also, since PN already operates a variety of surface (vessel) launched AShMs, its logical for them to deploy it.

Its chances are as high (or as low) as any other modern subsonic AShM in the face of robust air defenses of a modern naval vessel. If detected, with enough time window a CIWS has the ability to disable it.

Precisely.

MTCR has nothing to do with the test when you are developing so the missile is not in violation and no one any more cares about MTCR Pakistan is beyond that mark they know all and cannot question it now it is too late for that. The missile is long ranged so that means they range can be confirmed by NOTAM easily.

Anti ship missile are not based on GPS unless they are with nuclear warhead so it is definitely not GPS or xyz it is most probably something that is more responsive to the movement of the target as it is anti ship missile.
You are somehow right about it, that can be in a terminal phase radar homing guidance system, but GPS or/and INS for the general direction at first when the missile is launched..

what is our launch platform for Zarb?

Pakistan successfully test-fires ground-to-sea missile
Pakistan has successfully test-fired ground-to-sea missile.

According to spokesperson of Pakistan Navy, the missile, equipped with modern technology and avionics, accurately hit the target in the sea.

The induction of the missile would help strengthen country's defence and operational capabilities of Pakistan Navy.

Vice Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Khan Hisham Bin Siddique witnessed the test firing of the missile.

Details to follow.

This is the third missile test in last few months. On January 24, Pakistan test-fired 2,200-kilometre range indigenously-developed surface to surface nuclear-capable missile Ababeel. The missile is capable of delivering multiple warheads, using Multiple Independent Re-entry Vehicle (MIRV) technology.

The Ababeel test flight was aimed at validating various design and technical parameters of the weapon system.

During the same month, submarine-launched cruise missile Babur-III was successfully test-fired. Babur weapons system incorporates advanced aerodynamics and avionics that can strike targets both at land and sea with high accuracy .

Babur-III is a low flying, terrain hugging missile, which carries certain stealth features and is capable of carrying various types of warheads.
ground-to-sea missile

if i simply say surface to surface would it b any different

So its look like ZARB-II or Improve ZARB "basically Training" still We welcome this. :smitten::smitten::pakistan::pakistan:
One question, What is the flight altitude of Zarb (c-602)? Warning Issue for 1.5km only.
so is it a reply for Indian Brahmus???

Not really,
However AShM differ slightly in a way that these are usually fitted with active radar seeker to engage the moving targets at sea. Same can/is done with Surface to surface missiles meant to hit moving targets as well. Thus the differentiation of Surface to Surface or Land to Sea (AShM). :)

NO.

Actually the reason I mentioned PAF was because their is a dedicated squadron for antiship roles. I think it was mirage 5 which was to be replaced by JF17. A fighter jet can hit a target further away from our shores than say a fixed battery.
But having said that I don't mean that PN can't use this weapon but for me it becomes more potent with say a squadron of JF17 backed by AWACS.

I'm sure both PAF and PN will have their resources networked to ensure sharing of information and appropriate responses.

They showed a glimpse of it today.
