Pakistan selling its golf courses in deparate attempt to divert default

to train our generals to play a game of golf when they visit Washington, the inferiority complex makes you do crazy things.
Third world inferiority complex towards the rich white man and living like them, only power to oppose this is proud pendus same people who are mocked

We should sell off our historical buildings, I think foreighers will take better care of them. Most are used by himeless drug addicts as sleeping spots right now.

All the more reason to sell it off, empty those stuck containers and let the people have at it with their vegetables and whatnot. Let them enjoy a few good suppers before the docks go silent again.
The people need to see the pain - part of the problem is the massive subsidies and coddling Pakistanis have been given by their governments who were only looking for reelections or support to keep their seats.

I don't get it. Pakistan's major problem seems to be foreign debt and lack of forex. Why will a foreign lender want to invest in Pakistan's golf courses or keep them in lieu of payments? Golf courses don't make money. Most of them are white elephants and cannot be monetised.

It all depends on the price. At the right price, it may be profitable to operate Golf courses to cater to the elites who may have income or assets in foreign currency. It will be a very exclusive franchise if you stipulate that the payments will be only received in foreign currency. They have a highly successful Canadian coffee franchise. Just because Pakistan as a State is bankrupt doesn't mean all the people are bankrupt. Cuba has/had such a system where the exclusive resorts cater to those paying in foreign currency. Cubans without access to foreign currency just work there.

One has to think of Golf courses like how the Establishment thinks.

Golf courses are essentially plots. Get the plots at throwaway prices, hold on to it. And may be the IMF can register itself as a property developer and build houses/commercial properties on it, and then sell it.

Do these people https://tribune.com.pk/story/240129...-in-humanitarian-assistance-for-flood-victims need any more pain? We shouldn't look at the elites and think they are all living high on the hog.
Have they decided to change things? Run into tje streets? Tear down the houses of Zardari and the overall Sindh government which just recently stole money and shamelessly resent flood aid back to Turkey disguised as earthquake aid?

If No - yes, they will suffer more

If people do this and raid Zardari house, how long before army and ssg show up and massacre them all labelling them as terrorists?
These mafia rulers imposed over us have the protection of the state. Anyone who dares to fight back against these mafia’s are labeled as terrorists and crushed using the states forces. The people blindly accept that they were terrorists and no one dares to question the extra judicial murders carried out by these mafias using the states resources.
The average citizen of Pakistan who’s fed up with this injustice, even if they raid zardari house without any weapons, it will mean fighting pak army and ssg. When and if zardari house gets raided ssg will pull up within minutes and it will be called a terrorist attack and everyone killed even if they were average awam armed with sticks and stones out to get their right.

There’s only two options:
1) be quiet and bear the oppression
2) full rebellion fighting these mafia rulers and anyone who defends them

Rebellion is easier said than done. Majority of Pakistanis will probably side with the state in any rebellion and believe the state is killing “terrorists”.

Pakistan is a country of 220million people - there is nothing that can stand in the way of that if the people are determined ..

What is lacking is the trigger point for that need for change ..
