Pakistan selling its golf courses in deparate attempt to divert default

The full-blown economic turmoil pushed the country of over 220 million at risk of a debt default, with the coalition government taking stringent measures to dodge default.

As the sword of default hangs over the cash-strapped nation, the country’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif mentioned an out-of-the-box scheme, suggesting that a quarter of debt could be settled if only two golf clubs built on state-owned land were sold.

The ruling party leader pointed out that several golf clubs have been built on government land, and opined that selling two golf clubs would have lessened the hefty debts. Lamenting elite capture, he said several notables of society spend their eves in these clubs.

WTF, they are building these luxury stuff on government land and can't even fucking do their actual job properly. Deserve to be lynched.

Only mothers will be left by the time these corrupts have finished selling the country.

Reminds me of South Africa where blacks were not allowed in the same city.

This is exactly what our country is unfortunately. The security is also only for Cantts, while tax payers / normal citizens of the country are treated like second class citizens. The mentality has developed especially with military brats that its not their duty to protect civilians. Basics have gone wrong.

Solution to all these problems, including hatred & resentment towards military, everything is moving military out of cities. They should establish their bases in the regions between the border and cities. As long as they roam around in the cities with such huge armed man-power, they won't think you as equal. They will have their eyes set on real estate and other city businesses. they will beat you if their's road accident, they will even kidnap traffic police if he dares to do challan. They will consider them above law while sharing the same city as you. Infact they are above law in Pakistan. An ex-PM could not file an FIR to a 20th grade officer (Major General)

Pakistan is facing water scarcity . I wonder where do they get all this water to taronka them g.c's?
Elite, powerful land owners are literally farming sugar cane crops in middle of what used to be an arid, semi desert area

Water scarcity is only for poor and middle class folks, this elite capture of our resources would destroy our future generations

The real solution would be "CIVILIAN SUPREMACY" Civilians should wake up and smell the coffee and take charge of institutions which should be headed only by civilians.

Our GHQ even interfere in purely civil depts OR areas they should not. Like chairmans of various civil departments, Or even foreign policy etc. While in neighboring India even their RAW is headed by a civilian and the results are in front of everyone.

Raw is humiliating our intelligence for more then 2 decades now. The continuous terror campaign that is successfully funded by RAW, not just elements in Balochistan but using TTP for spectacular results. Just giving 2 examples, taking out Pakistan's most expensive force multipliers like AWACS and anti-submarine aircrafts were very successful sabotage operations. No way TTP would do just by itself. Those were planned by RAW to the last details. Penetrating military bases and destroying targets which were specifically procured for india. ISI could not gave any response at all. We are only seeing complete FAILURE from ISI. Even if its india or Afghanistan. The TTP is making a joke out of our intelligence agency as well. This is one job our ISI had. Just one job. Instead kidnapping own citizens they should have focused here. With such huge budget they fail in their only job. The deaths of our jawans & our people are failures of our military planners.

I am sure even if any department had only a fraction of budget of Army that would have done wonders. Provided no interference from GHQ. There is serious organizational problem in the GHQ that starts from PMA.

Well every Cantt has Golf courses. Take out time and see them through google satellite map.

Stark difference between awam and Fauj can be seen from bird's eye view.

Just for example, posting image of a small area of Multan Cantt, the military colony, then a golf course and then a wall separating it from bloody civilians and then Ghareeb awam can be seen all in one image: (coordinates: 30.174763,71.4034596)

If their would be any morality left then the standard of life between the tax payers and their chaukidaars should be leveled. Huge bungalows of Generals could give immense wealth as well, if someone dares to ask them to shift to bit normal house. See below residence of Lahore Corp Commander. Its coordinates (31.5291668,74.38068). Its 45 Kanal house.

Damn, my family were multi-millionaires before and after coming to the U.S. but never have we spent our wealth on these vast houses. Instead, we put everything towards our business expansion.
Well, I guess this tells you why this country and its top thinkers fail.

Same for the Arabs. They can invest in high-risk buildings, etc., but it will not mean much if they don't have industries, incubator zones, etc.

Even the U.S. military officer houses are smaller than my U.S. rental properties; this should give you an insight into the thinking of these officers.

This here tells you why this country has failed and will continue to fail.

I have a better idea, Army should sell all the weapons and equipment to the civilian population, then pay off the debt, these weapons are useless in Army's hand at least Civilians will make use of them, with the amount of weapons and equipment PA has Pakistani civilians not only can take back Kashmir but can capture India many times.
May be a new Army should be raised from the Civil Population we have seen the examples of Soviet Army of WW2.

will karachi dha golf be also on chopping block

NAB cases against these corrupt over 11000 billion rupees..forgiven by PDM.

Considering the increase in prime real estate prices, if all the unused and excess real estate owned in foreign countries is sold off, much more money than IMF loan or alms from friendly countries can be earned. Also, SBP is sitting on 5 billion dollars' worth of bullion. Defaulting instead of selling this bullion makes no sense.
