Pakistan pushes for reset ties with USA

It's not like bilateral relationships are ever static in international geopolitics. What is here today may not be there tomorrow. Both nations will continue to reevaluate the situation, I am sure.

That's true and the dynamics were better with Trump.
Anyway, every nation has their interests, so it's time for Pakistan to stay the course.

Of course. Both nations will serve their own national interests, as they should. Let me just mention that USA remains the largest buyer of Pakistani textiles. As long as that remains true, there is good hope.

Well there's plenty of time let's see.

the relations between Pakistan & u.s. should remain lukewarm...keep it limited to trade & diplomatic ties whileb keeping theb heat turned on in afghanistan & the middle east. make them keep coming back for more cooperation.

There is nothing to reset, this article is sensationalist. Pakistan should maintain friendly terms with USA and continue counter terrorism cooperation. This is the case now and will be the case tomorrow.

The meek inherit the earth. Its better not to be a key front line state in USA's foreign policy objectives, IMO (bad things usually befall front line states).

Both countries interests will ensure some sort of relationship, but our future prosperity and national security will be China, Turkey, Iran, South East Asia, mid East.....etc etc.

Issue is Afghanistan and another adventure against China belt and road initiative nothing more we paid heavy price since cold war era and last 20yrs keep trade and commercial ties along diplomatic but being another frontline state againt super power China is foolish thought let Americans remain angry will back to theior sence

Despite what many may say on here, the American hand in resolving Indo-Pak political and military crises is second to none globally. This alone is enough reason for Pakistan to keep trying to improve relations with the US, let alone other obvious ones such as trade, military supplies and access to the IMF and World Bank etc.

To add, of course to improve ties it doesn't mean you bend over backwards to accommodate whatever the US desires, as was the case with previous admins who promised the moon and couldn't deliver. Pak's reset and approach IMO is a good way forward and if the US responds positively, it may lead to warmer and more importantly, sustainable relations.

Yes the same way the US hand was playing an honest broker position between the Palestinians and Israelis. Pakistan needs to grow a pair and learn to stand on her own feet.
